We visited over 10 winerires during our stay in Clare. Jim Barry was the worst cellar door experience by far!!! Don't waste your time and money at Jim Barry!

Our party of four arrived with high expectations and, unfortunately, left sorely disappointed. Although the wine was lovely, the customer service provided at the cellar door was so poor that it significantly detracted from the wine's enjoyment.

The cellar door attendant was inattentive, left to answer her phone multiple times, and offered little to no information about the tastings provided. In fact, one wine was poured without a mention of the varietal or vintage. It is important to note that this was a paid tasting, making the experience all the more disappointing.

Upon the end of the tasting, our group were deciding on our purchases when the attendant informed us of some wines being offered at a discount due to imperfect labelling. When a member of our party requested a small additional tasting of this wine we were met with an overt eye roll and an "only if you buy something". We ended up purchasing significantly less than we had originally planned to due to this interaction.

This was the first of many wineries we visited while in Clare. If you are seeking great wine and customer service forego Jim Barry and instead visit Vanguardist Wines and Kilikanoon - both were exceptional.

Hi There, We are so sorry to hear that you did not have an enjoyable experience at the cellar door. We would very much like to discuss it with you further, to get an understanding on why our customer service broke down on the day. If you would be good enough to contact me via email (olivia@jimbarry.com) or by phone (08 8842 2261), it would be very much appreciated. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards, Olivia Hoffmann-Barry

This was amazing, a truly personal experience with the effervescent Olivia Barry hosting us, introducing her dad, the legendary Peter Barry. Together they are the most genuine & generous people, who went out of their way to make this a truly memorable visit - recognising our appreciation for their deep family history & links to the terroir of the Clare. We toured the winery, then it was off to the high country Lodge Hill vineyard where they grow Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon & Assyrtiko (from cuttings obtained by Peter in Santorini). Spectacular countryside. Then we were off to the lovely Sevenhill church of St Aloysius. Olivia then took us onto Clos de Clare, the beautiful Florita Vineyard for a Riesling vertical tasting. This was great. Well tendered vineyard & gardens (great work Lloyd). After that, we had an absolutely top class 7 course lunch at the historic Watervale Hotel (superbly renovated building, outstanding food & hospitality). After lunch, we visited the Armagh Hut, for the next highlight - a tasting of the famous Jim Barry red wines (including Pb, Benbournie, McRae Wood), with tastings of 2 vintages of The Armagh - outstanding experience. Best day ever!

We love visiting Jim Barry wines. The people are always super friendly and of course the wine selection is varied so everyone is bound to find something they like! Some wineries don't give you the story behind their wines but Olivia Barry, Brand Ambassador, has so many wonderful stories to tell that it really adds to the whole experience.
It is one of the MUST visit wineries when visiting Clare.

What a lovely welcome we received today. We enjoyed the wines and would definitely recommend others to visit. Bec and Lauren are excellent ambassadors for the winery, their hospitality was just wonderful. We learnt so much more about the history of the winery, and can appreciate why Jim Barry wines win so many awards.

Immersion tasting w the Darling Wife and Learning Daughter. Fabulously presented by George who managed us and various multitudes who drifted into the tasting room over the course of events with aplomb.

I bought way too much wine as a result.

The Clare Valley is one of the best-known wine districts in South Australia. South Austrlia is known as "the wine state." The Clare Valley is famous for its white wines, especially riesling. Jim Barry is one of the Valley's top producers. We have visted the Clare Valley several times, it's a great place to taste some good wines.

Jim Barry is proud to be one of the Clare Valley's top producers. The Clare Valley is is one of Australia's oldest wine-producing areas, with a winemaking history dating back to settlement in 1849. The unique combination of geography, geology and climate, result in terroir that is perfect for producing world-class wine. Warm days, coupled with cool nights during the growing season provide favourable conditions for the varieties grown in the area.

Simple cellar door layout, nothing fancy. Our tasting guide was very helpful, knowledgeable and generous with tastes of wine not on the list like aged riesling and even a vintage Armagh. It's easy to see why Clare Valley is so famous. The Armagh was amazing. I certainly agree with the notion that 2 Armaghs are better value for money than one Grange!

We had just ridden some of the Riesling trail and on our way back into town we swung into Jim Barry. We have tasted some of this wine but never actually gone to the cellar door.

We were missing out. The wine is incredible and the personal service from Olivia was outstanding.

Don’t get FOMO you need to visit this place when your are in the Clare

Olivia drove all the way from Adelaide to give just myself a 2 hr full Jim Barry tasting. Amazing service, so much interesting info and perspectives whilst not being pushy at all. Wonderful wines, so interesting to compare Coonawarra to Clare and of course the amazing Armagh, with the 2012 being my personal favourite. Thank you Olivia, we will be recommending you and Jim Barry wines to all our friends.

Nice outlook, our first experience of the Clare region. Really liked the Assyrtiko, but nothing else took my fancy however the others liked a few different varieties.
Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Thanks
