I just did my eighth dive on the Brisbane last weekend and I had a fantastic time as always. The site is easy to access by boat charter and it's a fantastic introduction to wreck diving. I used to work as a divemaster in Mooloolaba before the Brisbane arrived - and it has completely transformed the dive scene on the... More

This was my third wreck dive, and I absolutely loved it! It's big, its beautiful and has so many fish, manta rays and other critters around! Going with SunReef, we dove twice: once to survey the outside of the ship, and once to penetrate the ship. Sunreef were organised, fun and experienced divers who helped us all have a great,... More

I had the privilege of diving the HMAS Brisbane with Scuba World yesterday. The crew Keith, Chris and Brad "Spielberg" were their usual attentive, cheerful selves. I had been looking forward to this dive since I qualified and this dive did not disappoint. Visibility was ok, sea was calm and even the eagle rays paid us a visit. If you... More

The position of the HMAS Brisbane overlooking the Alexandra Headland and Mooloolaba area is a must see. Sit and watch the ships pass or the surfers enjoy the waves. A lovely park area for a picnic or if feeling energetic, a walk along the beached area is a must

A fantastic dive site. It would take dozens of dives to cover it and the ship is purposely prepared to penetrate the wreck with visible entries and exits throughout. Depth at the ship's bottom is about 28m but there is plenty of marine life action between 12m & 18m. The wreck is an easy 10 to 15 minute boat ride... More

This was my 2 boys and my first wreck dive. I was impressed with the decommissioning of the HMAS Brisbane, it allows novice divers to feel extremely comfortable exploring the wreck knowing that there is always an easy exit if needed. The Scuba World crew were great, the briefings were comprehensive without being long winded ensuring a safe dive where... More

If you like purpose build wrecks then this fits the bill. Big spaces to enter and exit, surprisingly little muck to be stirred up and good quantity of marine life. Done and crossed off the list, nothing memorable but that could be because the dive operator was a bit dosorganised, not even a drink of water between dive
