Stroll around the Lake
Nov. 2021
A park with plenty of lakes and birds, if you are not a love of Bin Birds, probalby not for you. However there are lots of other birds, great to get close up photos.

A Peaceful, Playful and Pleasent Park
Jan. 2021 • Couples
We visited Lake Alford to break up our long drive from Brisbane and the amount of life in one park was unbelievable. Soo many different breeds of healthy birds were scattered amongst the lush green grass and trees. In the water you would see plenty of turtles popping their heads up in the lake full of vibrant green algae.

There is plenty of resting areas for a peaceful picnic and two different playgrounds to watch the kids play.
A big fenced dog park is also located on the grounds with heaps of parking around the park.

For those who are travelling a long distance, this is definately a pleasent park to stop and rest during a long drive.

Great stop for a rest
Dec. 2020 • Couples
Great little park on the Bruce highway good spot to stop and stretch your legs it has a dog park as well so good for our fur baby to have a run as well.
Lots of bird life on the pond but with birds comes a lot of poop everywhere.
The only thing missing is on the highway side it would be good if there was a coffee van as the only cafe is at the gold museum on the other side of the park.
Markets are held here every second Sunday.
But it’s a great little park but in weekends & holidays parking is a bit hard.

A lovely open space with plenty to do

We always stop at “The duck pond” when traveling through Gympie. Separate fenced playground for kids with heaps of rides. Also a separately fenced dog park area allowing family members to run free.
Duck pond is full of life and easy to walk around. Plenty of picnic areas and grassy areas with shade to relax.

Restful place to stop
Oct. 2020
We had intended to come for a walk to break our trip up. There was a local market on, which was wonderful. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Then we went to the cafe at the historical museum for coffee, staff are friendly surrounds entertaining and the park is a wonderful spot to watch the turtles, birds and eels.

Wild Life
Jul. 2020
Would have loved to spend a lot more time enjoying this beautiful park and it's wild life but rain sent us indoors.
Intend to visit again with a large picnic basket and sunshine.

A great place for a walk and stretch the legs.
Dec. 2019
If the water level is good it will be great to walk around the ponds. If there hasn't been rain for quite some time it can get smelly, a good downpour can freshen them up. With seating areas, lots of shaded areas under trees, walkways that are easy to access and do, bridge ways, parks and swings for the kids its a really great place to stop and relax.
