Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This was a quite a find. Great movies in a comfortable cinema and so reasonably priced. Think there were 5 or 6 movies to choose from.

This place is old and tired, wish they would do it up to make it a nice place to visit. Great for a cheap kids movie to save me taking her to Maroochydore.

This complex has 5 cinemas, with 1 of them being really small. It's old and often things go wrong, like the sound or picture, or the staff don't come to turn out the lights or shut the door. The big plus is that all tickets are only $9 for every person, every session.

I was warned not to go to these cinemas. However I went, we purchased our tickets at the box office where the obscure sign directed us. (which is nowhere near the actual cinemas.) It's the one poor girl who has to sell snacks on one counter and then sell tickets at the other counter. She warned us not to enter the cinema before the starting time of 1215 so we complied and stood outside in the humidity waiting. There was no one on the door so at 1217pm we & others started going in. To my distain the cinema was so small it was oppressive. To make matters worse there was only the front 3 pews left, the whole back of the cinema was already full with people. The credits from some other movie were on the screen. Anyway these people didn't move out so we had no choice but to sit with out necks cricked up in the 3rd row from the front so close that the screen looked blurry and gave us a headache by the end. I went to express my dismay and ask for a refund but the box office was closed. Then I tried calling the company only to get a recorded message from some guy stumbling over his words which was very frustrating. I left a message to return my call and said I have a complaint. I expect a refund. I will never go back to these third world cinemas.

$9 latest pictures and $7 drink and popcorn, what could you complain about. Yes the theatres are small, yes the carpet and chairs could be replaced but this all adds to the experience of what old suburban theatres were like. Hope bigscreen cinemas remain for many years and the locals appreciate what they still have. Manager very friendly and obviously loves his job.

I just love going to Big Screen Cinemas in Caloundra. The ticket prices are great compared to Maroochydore.

Some people complain that the cinemas are old and the place is run down but it's not as bad as people say. I'm not into busy, noisy movie theatres so BSC suits me fine.

The staff there are always friendly, it's clean enough and I love the small, intimate feel of the whole building.

I will definitely keep going there.

Small, cash only, thought it might have been a cosy little movie house.
old chairs, feet couldn't reach the ground, no cup holders.
My garage is bigger
Cheap $9 tickets, worth spending the extra elsewhere.
Not a pleasant movie experience.

Take a small step back in time to some good old fashioned window service with
laid back ease to enjoy something the others have moved on from or something new!

We have been here many times over the years
The cinemas are small, comfortable and clean.
