Cupitt’s Estate is well known in the South Coast, as it is a lovely place to enjoy wine or beer tasting, grab a bite to eat or dine in the restaurant whilst taking in the stunning views of the property and the Budawang Ranges.
We partook in a wine tasting, paired with cheese and crackers, sitting outdoors on the lawn where there were plenty of families and even dogs!
Cupitt’s is known for their award winning wines, the winery in operation since 2007. Cupitt’s produces sparkling, whites and reds in a range of varieties especially European varieties. Grapes are sourced from grapes are sourced from cool climate regions across New South Wales and Victoria, including Hilltops, Tumarumba, Orange, the Yarra Valley and Canberra District.
Cupitt’s now also produce their own craft beer so you’re able to try beer paddles too; ale, ipa, pale ale, coconut IPA, imperial stout, Pilsner and more.
Food
You can dine in the on site restaurant with a 4-Course set menu for $85 pp. Alternatively you can sit outside and order from their ala carte which has charcuterie boards, cheeses and pizzas. You can take a wine or beer tasting out there too.
Wine and cheese tastings
For $45 pp you can also book to do a wine and cheese tasting with 5 wines and 3 cheeses.
Wine tasting
The guided Cellar Door tasting takes you through 5 wines, where you taste the wines and learn about the winemaking process and find your favourite. The tasting is $10 pp.
Shop
You can visit the cellar door for take-away Wine, Beer, Cheese and Merchandise.
Overall
The winery is super popular so you really must book for any of the experiences. We found it to be a lovely experience

We stopped in on the off chance and were lucky to be able to taste some wines and also booked a table on the deck for lunch.
Some nice wines although slightly on the more expensive side, probably because they are limited batches.
We had the bar menu on the deck as in the restaurant it’s a four course set menu for $85 pp and we didn’t want a big lunch.
Bar menu is good, I had chicken pieces of which you get 8 wing dings and smoky aioli, yummy. Hubby had smoked ocean trout also quite tasty. We shared a bowl of chips with aioli, more then enough to eat for a reasonable sized lunch. Finished off with coffee.
Good clean toilets. Friendly efficient staff. Nice outlook although weather was a bit rainy and overcast today.

Lovely little cellar door. The view and atmosphere is really cool and relaxed. I love the option of being able to grab a table outside and get a drink and some bar food and the fact that you can picnic on the grass with family with a pizza or sit at a plastic table and chairs to enjoy the view and serenity. We came on a busy Saturday and were still able to get a table.
I am a full bodied Shiraz drinker so naturally prefer their whites and rose, however all wine is delicious well priced. The cellar door staff are friendly and dealt with the tacky hens and bucks patrons well.
Bar food was easy, but really average food and small portions which were not commensurate to the price. The line up for the drinks at the bar was too long with only two staff serving and also taking food orders at the same time. Maybe look into streamlining this a little more for busy days?
Next time I will book and try the restaurant. Hoping the menu is better, but hear great reviews. Will definitely be back as this is a lovely little part of the world.

Thank you for the feedback sassymissc. We are glad that you enjoyed our venue. I will discuss your comments regarding the food and wait times with our team. I am sorry that you found this unsatisfactory, it sounds like we were caught a bit off guard with a busy day. I do hope that you can visit us for a meal in our a la carte dining room soon.

We booked in advance and paid $10 each for a tasting. That is pretty pricey- the norm is $5 each which is taken off any purchases. For $10 we got a very small tasting pour ( at most 30 ml) of 5 wines, no choice which of the dozen or so they sell we tasted. We have done lots of winery tastings. The wine was reasonable quality but expensive for what it was. None of the grapes were local, they are from other regions, not sure if made on the site.
The person conducting the tastings knew his script but was not very engaging. Contrary to every other winery we have ever visited, if you purchased, the tasting fee was not deducted from the cost of the wine. Overall a very disappointing overpriced visit.

We ate lunch in the restaurant at the 12 noon sitting (rather than 2pm sitting). It was a beautiful sunny day and the views were lovely. The service was excellent and attentive - explaining the menu and options. We decided to share a number of small plates and the food was excellent. The serves were generous, the flavours delightful. We shared the crumbed eggplant, corn fritters, cauliflower harissa, goats cheese honey almonds, and a dressed green salad. The wines are a nice compliment to the meal. The cost was $65 pp incl a glass of wine which we considered reasonable given the quality. Good for a special occasion rather than a quick bite to eat.

The views at the winery were excellent and the wine tasted was fine (a Rose) although a littleover-priced for a winery restaurant. We arrived early for lunch and a wine tasting was not offered but a glass of wine at cost was. Odd as we were standing at the door to the Cellar looking thirsty and confused. The lunch was a disappointment at $85 per head and this place can and should do better before the word gets around.

Sorry to hear you did not enjoy your experience. We take appointments for a wine tasting to ensure we can maintain covid-safe practices in our cellar door. These can be made online. Sorry we could not fit you in on the day you visited.

You certainly need to book.
We booked a few days in advance and the only capacity they had was the ‘lawn’
It was pouring but we were desperate to try the venue given the reviews- I would rate much higher if the booking for ‘the lawn’ had umbrellas on all tables as we sat in the rain and it was rather dismal some of the table service was rather sassy and a bit condescending ..but the speed of the food delivery was impressive and food quality was lovely.
Bar grazing menu was limited so Go the pizzas for sure. The cheese in the blue salad was beautiful but with no dressing the overall salad was bland and not worth the $

Thank you for visiting Cupittt's. We are sorry the venue is not entirely usable in wet weather. We do make this very clear on all our booking platforms that the lawn is weather dependent. Thanks for your insights on your experience we will follow up with the team to improve on the service and offering.

Having previously dined at Cupitt’s, we called in on spec - wet Sunday afternoon. Were keen to try their beers. Despite it being busy and after 2pm, we were welcomed and a seat was found for us to enjoy the experience. The beers were crisp and the cheese platter was superb - each one with a point of difference. The GF toast was divine! It was restful looking out through the raindrops to the green hills with an open fire at our back.
Thank you Chris and team for your hospitality.

My wife and I discovered Cupitt Winery/restaurant a delightful place to visit. After sampling some of the wines at the tasting centre, we then proceeded to the restaurant for lunch and were lucky enough to get a window table looking over some vineyards and paddocks, complete with cows and calves grazing peacefully. Alas, as I was the nominated driver, I couldn’t partake of the matched wines menu, but my wife pronounced all the choices for the various courses “just right”. The service was good and friendly and the foods delicious. I recommend this place as a rather decadent “feel-good” experience. And at least I could partake of their wine when we opened the first of the four bottles we bought when we got home - and I am looking forward to sampling the others when the time is right!

Visited yesterday for a late birthday lunch. Had the $85 tasting menu which really was exceptional. Very interesting dishes. It's a beautiful location but the service really is worth a special mention. There were 700 people booked in over the day (we were in the restaurant but they also have a gorgeous lawn area with tables & brollies and a lovely deck area) so they were very busy but you could not fault the service, friendly, attentive and fun.
Well done to all the staff there.

Hi, we do recommend making a reservation, If you know you will be dining, however, we always have a casual bar menu available for lunch too as an option if we cannot fit you into the restaurant.
Thank you.
