What a fabulous exhibition.
Slim and Joy had such an amazing life, we really enjoyed watching the documentary, reading about his life and seeing all the costumes and memorabilia.
We had lunch in the Cafe, nice fresh sandwiches and good coffee 👌 without the high prices that some attractions add.

Everyone knows at least one song of Slim dusty’s and this centre gives a great insight into slim and his wife’s achievements. Very well set out with loads of memorabilia. If you are a fan you will love this centre like my husband. I wasn’t such a big fan but found it very interesting and spent about one hour taking in all of the interesting displays. Well worth a visit

This museum is located just out of Kempsey. Their is a ample car park which is within walking distance of the museum. There are concession and group admission prices.
The memorabilia and displays cover the life and achievements of Slim and Joy. When one reads the material you realise how hard it was for both of them, their family and band members in the early days to make a living. Also the vast distances that they travelled in their caravan, going from one town to another. Greatness did not come easy or quickly. The gold and platinum records speak volumes of their singing and writing abilities. I do not believe that Australia will see the likes of Slim and Joy again.

A well set out display of this local legend. We are not country music fans but we both found this collection excellent and you can't help but admire Slim and Joy for their exploits and contribution to the Australian music industry.

This is a must for any Australian to visit and displays a great collection of Slim’s records including the awards and Gold and Platinum records Slim won over such a long and illustrious recording and entertaining career. His famed car and caravan are on display and there are a number of small theatres running video presentations. What is also excellent is the recognition of a number of Australian artists and entertainers who travelled the country for so many decades performing in country shows and local venues. As a historical reference site it is amazingly well done. There is a small light cafe and, naturally, a shop where one can buys some memorabilia and recordings. Parking is next to the centre and the entry fee is modest with concessions to various groups.

We loved our walk through this tribute to such a legend. We had a helpful guide and thoroughly enjoyed our time here. We spent over 2 hrs walking through, watching the continuous films/footage and listening to the stories being told. It’s a must for anyone who loves Australian music.. not just the country and western

We could not be in this neck of the woods and not pay a visit. Slim has been a part of our family forever and the museum did not disappoint.

Visited this a few years ago and it was quite interesting. Probably won't go again unless new things are added. The cafe had a very limited menu. It was more like a souvenir shop than a museum. For those with mobility issues or respiratory illness the walk from the carpark to the front entrance is quite long. The facility had automatic entrance doors which worked well. Staff were well presented, helpful and pleasant. They shared quite a lot of interesting information as we browsed the facility. The movie theatre was nice. For people interested in country music and Slim Dusty I would recommend visiting it.
