- Dan LBunbury, Australia7,271 contributionsInteresting HistoryA visit to Scenic World was included in our tour. Tickets all pre organised and we were soon enjoying the short descent in the Railcar, although the ride would have been more enjoyable with views from the front car. The Skywalk was our highlight. Great experience surrounded by the trees and other vegetation, views of the abandoned mine equipment, the entrance to the old mine and the Aussie Miner & Pit Pony sculpture, and our guide regaling us with the past history of the area. We enjoyed our ride on the cable car, great views to the valley and waterfall and the mountain ranges. Plenty of goodies on offer in the shop.Visited November 2022Written 26 December 2022
- khopkins4421 contributionsMassively over crowdedOver ticketed. Way too crowded! Greed overwhelms a beautiful part of the world Wait times of 30-55 minutes to get on any of the cable cars. Top that off with limited space in the cafe. Was here years ago and loved it, clearly the revenue is the most important nowVisited December 2022Travelled with familyWritten 29 December 2022
- arantiusSydney, Australia35 contributionsScenicGreat experience walking the forest floor. Railway and cable car great fun. Skyway is great too but is an issue if you’re limited for time and it’s busy as there’s a big queue, then they make you get off the other side (ok if you want to explore the walls and lookouts), and join another queue to get back across.Visited October 2022Travelled with familyWritten 6 January 2023
- Garrett S128 contributionsAmazing viewsWe went as part of a day tour and it was a nice relaxing trip. There are several things to do including the steep tram, a glass-bottom cable car, and a scenic walk through the woods. Breath-taking views and only about an hour drive from Sydney. Definitely worth it if you want to take a nature trip while you are in the area.Visited December 2022Written 14 February 2023
- travelling-ravsQueensland, Australia21 contributionsIf only I was an Indian Pacific customer...Overall Scenic World is a good day out with the steep railway being the highlight. What soured the day was the Scenic World employee that prevented a bunch of customers on the Skyway at the Katoomba falls side due to the Indian Pacific customers turning up on a bus, late (their words which was great for them apparently) but sucked for the rest of us as we watched a half empty Skyway leave. Instead of letting the customers to return on the cableway, a number of whom was standing in the sun due to the lack of shade, we were stopped from going on. The employee spoke out of his arse saying that the skyway was full (it wasn't) and crapped on that it only only allows a ton as he drives the skyway (sure, you press a button and its still more than half empty). Dude was rude and instead of saying 'sorry, my bad', just turned his back and gave a sour expression. All smiles for the Indian Pacific customers though! Need to do that cruise once I get old so I get the 5 star treatment. You may be experienced to drive a Skyway but its too hard for you to split a crowd in 2 and say Indian Pacific customers to one side and your other paying customers on the other who were there at the same time. We had to listen to the Indian Pacific lecture then watch them get on the cableway missing 2 cycles and wasting 25 minutes of our time which would of been better spent at Scenic World rather than standing in a hot bare cableway stop. Kudos to the other staff member allowing the elderly couple on with your Indian Pacific customers cause the poor dude couldn't stand for that long. If you drive yourself there, skip the Skyway. There is plenty of parking at Katoomba Falls rather than wasting your time on the Skyway. And if you're find yourself with the Indian Pacific customers, expect to be treated differently and placed at the back of the line. Sad thing is that interactions with other staff was wonderful. Just takes 1 bad egg to ruin the day.Visited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 2 March 2023
- 199PatriciaRotherham, United Kingdom35 contributionsGreat rides and stunning sceneryThree of us went on a Wednesday early March. We booked online and selected an 11am arrival slot. We actually arrived at 10.45. The queues were very short for the rides. Later, about 12.30 it was much busier. We were given a map and the different walk lengths were drawn on it. The signposting on the paths is generally good. We really enjoyed the rides and did some of them more than once. We felt we got our money's worth. The views from the skyway and cableway were stunning. Walking to the viewpoints offered longer to admire the scenery. On the walk from the bottom of the railway there is lots of information about the old mine. The staff were all friendly and helpfulVisited March 2023Travelled with friendsWritten 8 March 2023
- Kimmy1 contributionAmazing timeWe had a fantastic time at Scenic world, we are from Sydney and it is really something that everyone should come and do! Different things you can do is great, it was very well staffed and operated. However a few little things nearly ruined our day - Appreciate we were there on a Saturday and it was busy, there were numerous European tourists that had no hesitation pushing and shoving to get onto the skyway and cable car. I think management could find a far better way to get a better queuing system happening. I literally had to hold my kids by the arms and even then one nearly got bowled over by some random lady thinking she could beat us onto the cable car to get a better view. Very difficult for families to stay together and people who do the right thing and wait in line get punished. Secondly, there is a very minimal percentage of people wearing masks. I’m quite sure the random European tourists came from a cruise ship and particularly waiting for the skyway there was absolutely no way to social distance from these people, especially with staff telling you to move up to get more people into the area immediately next to skyway entry. One of them wanted to stand between me and my husband and I had to literally push them away. If at all possible come to this amazing place early and on a less busy day if at all possible. Bring a mask and be prepared to fight for your life should there be any scary European tourists around. Even after all that it was a worthwhile visit.Visited March 2023Travelled with familyWritten 18 March 2023
- John S1 contributionShocking and over pricedWay over priced. You can achieve the same experience from the national park look out. Don't waste over $200 for the family, walk 200 metres for the same views. It was a complete rip off. We will never go backVisited March 2023Written 22 March 2023
- goblin54Plymouth, United Kingdom243 contributionsEasy alternative to hikingWe visited on Good Friday & expected long queues arriving at 11.15, but were pleasantly surprised. Apart from the 10-15 minute walk from the base of the railway to the cableway, we didn’t do any of the hikes, so completed the railway, cableway & skyway in 90 minutes. Once inside you can ride each of the 3 attractions multiple times if you want to. The railway is a very short ride, partly in a tunnel, so the views aren’t great, but the cableway and skyway both offer great views. You could get similar views for free if you are prepared to hike, but this is the easy way out and as such reasonable value even though we were only there about 2 to 2.5 hours.Visited April 2023Written 11 April 2023
- 2CAtravelersBrattleboro, Vermont876 contributionsBeautiful SceneryOur friend in Sydney brought us here to show off the beautiful Blue Mountains and the Three Sisters Rocks. The scenery is excellent with such great views from the visitor center. We had lunch at the Cafe, which was quite good but a bit on the more expensive side. There is also a coffee bar. We did not have time to take some of the tours offered but would have loved to do so. It's well worth the trip from Sydney.Visited March 2023Written 10 June 2023

If you are limited on time and maybe not the fittest this is a good way of getting a taste of the Blue Mountains. The three ‘rides’ were fun especially the very steep train ride and the staff were all very welcoming, enthusiastic and informative. There are a series of well maintained trails around the floor of the forest that suit differing levels of ability. We did not find the dinosaurs intrusive but rather fun and an understand how they may appeal to younger visitors. Overall a really enjoyable visit and if like us you are only able to visit for a couple of days then we’ll worth a try.
My only gripe would be the rather unnecessarily commercial approach to food and drinks. Small bottles of water on sale for $4 gives an indication of what you will find. I suspect with more reasonable pricing they might make a better income

Very commercial by pretty views -- fun cable cars (only 2 of the 3 advertised were working) and nice hiking trails.

Disappointing - the skyway was closed, the dinosaurs seem incongruous and only for children, the walking could be done anywhere, therefore the result is paying an expensive full admission price for a brief funicular train journey of less than 5 minutes.

We have visited Scenic World twice now since moving to Queensland and have been unlucky in both days the cable car was down for maintenance. I appreciate your doing this for safety but I was wondering if you could
Check ahead of visiting as the cable car was the only one we (as in four of us)
wanted to ride to see Katoomba Falls closer up.
We had been a few times when living in Sydney and enjoyed the serenity of the rainforest and actual wildlife before it was spoiled with dinasaurs to chase away natural animals.
The four of us are in our late seventies and I need a walking stick but when I asked if I could ride the train again after going down as so few were waiting to board but the attendant on the train said I had to struggle up all those stairs and cross over to other side to board. I pleaded and said surely all these rows are empty but he said a big loud NO. I waited until train went up and down and asked again but same reply. My husband and friends are fitter and could do more walks than me so I had sent them off so I was left at the station until one other customer helped me up the stairs and down the stairs to get back to the other side to get to the top where we were to meet for lunch.
I would not recommend anyone doing this ride if stairs are difficult. Scenic world take your money but do not want to help by making it simple when the ride was not busy at all. We visited on Monday 13 th November when it was not a busy day. We were out of there as soon as lunch was over.
It is such a beautiful natural scenic place but is made hard with no consideration for those in need. The lady selling tickets could have advised me not be buy A ticket as she could see I used a walking stick and we could have all saved our money and visited the free lookouts everywhere. Very disappointing day.

This is a travesty. The funicular down to the rainforest has been a celebrated tourist attraction for a century. Now, in a presumably desperate effort to attract more punters, they have converted much of the walkways through the park into a 'dinosaur valley' complete with noisy fake-dinosaur sounds and crude animatronic creatures. The intrusion that this makes on one's appreciation of the place can well be imagined. A genuinely wonderful experience of the natural world has been utterly destroyed. Real birds and animals presumably now have run a mile. Any sense of the wonder of the rainforest has been annihilated. Any respect for the environment has been replaced by the crude search for maximum profit. I went with some German friends of mine having had a pretty good impression of it from a visit last year (before the latest so-called improvements). This time I was left not just embarrassed, but ashamed - mortified. My friends were left utterly bewildered that an environmental beauty would be treated with such contempt. The place is not just a shadow of its former self. It is a travesty - a sacrilege.

60aud for 3 rides (1 was closed). The rides were short and lasted for a few seconds albeit with pretty great view. And the walk was ridden with dinosaur animatronics which kinda spoilt the serenity of the place. Looks like a place for kids.

A bit disappointing. The Skyway wasn't running and yet full price was charged. Seemed an expensive way for a walk in the bush. The native wildlife couldn't be heard over the sounds of the animotronic dinosaurs in the valley.

For us, Scenic World was an easy trip in and out of Jamison Valley, allowing us to avoid strenuous hiking. The Train and cableway provide nice views of the valley walls and Three Sisters. The boardwalk on the valley floor provided a nice walk in the forest, with lots of birds, including a lyrebird. There are animatronic dinosaurs, which the families we saw there seemed to enjoy. The longer walks farther from the dinosaurs were quieter and more relaxing. There are a few exhibits on the valley floor showcasing the regions mining history.

Yes, both in the same location and your ticket covers the train and the skyway, plus the cable car which is a ten minute from the train stop at the bottom of the mountains. They offer group rate tickets too.

Hi, apologies for not answering earlier.
I'm pretty sure that it's a case of once you've paid and entered you can continue riding all day long, not just one go per attraction.

As I understand from the website of ScenicWorld there is a Scenic Pass a $49.90
Is it possible to get this ticket at Skyway East Sation?
As I would like to do the following:
*Use Scenic Cableway from East station to Scenic World
*Walk the Scenic Walkway
*Ride Scenic Railway
*Use my return ticket of Scenic Cable to bring me back to East station
Would this make any sense?
Any ideas!!?

the ticket is only valid for the day of purchase however i agree that midday you can enjoy everything inside and tours in a full afternoon do not be slow and you will fit it all in one afternoon.

if you can afford the time do all day as the entry price includes all, must do the bottom walk this is the best for me. do the railway up and the cable car downwards i find the best way to experience or vice versa but you will enjoy it

It looks like they only accept bookings for a certain time ahead. They aren't letting bookings for the saver tickets in the second half of December.
Can you purchase tickets downstairs to go on the rail? Or you must get tickets from Information Office in Echo point?

Hi. You can either go back up by the train or walk 15 minutes and go up using the cable car. It's preferable to come down by one mode and see the attractions like Scenic walk, Miner's hut , etc and then go back up by the other mode. That way you can cover both modes and the attractions.
