This was an amazing experience that we couldn't recommend enough.

The day started with abseiling off cliffs that got progressively higher starting from a few metres and going up to 30m, with an amazing view of the Blue Mountains.

We then drove to the Empress Falls, and had a simple lunch, before trekking down to the canyon. Navigating down the river involved several rock jumps into the water and ended with abseiling down the waterfall into the crowd below. A very epic end to the day that was super enjoyable and leaves you with a great feeling of accomplishment.

Our guide, Alex, was super knowledgeable and patient. He made us feel very safe and made the abseiling much easier to do than expected.

On a day when we got 4 seasons (and a good shot of rain in there), we still had a brilliant time. Our guide Tristan was fully in control and we felt safe even when going over the edge of big cliffs or waterfalls, or jumping into rock pools. The provided pretty much everything required over and above your shoes, shorts shirt and swimmers), including a nice hearty sandwich for lunch. Tristan clearly knew his stuff, and he also demonstrated a great love for the Blue Mountains and shared some great insights with us. And he ties a knot like a BOSS - my nephew, who is in the Scouts, says he has never seen anyone tie knots so well. The canyoning finishes on a high, with an abseil down a waterfall. We had a ball and we will be back.

I finally got to do the Wilderness Navigation course after a couple of COVID delays, and it was certainly worth the wait.

Brian was an excellent and passionate guide, who took his time to explain the theory and run through the practical stuff in the perfect manner. The course was fun and informative in equal measure.

I feel our group achieved a lot, but most importantly also we were encouraged in the right fashion to respect both the outdoor environment and also recognise the relative level of our skills. We will now each be confident enough to commence our own adventuress while knowing we still have much to perfect and practise. Hence no I’ll-considered gung-ho trips into the bush. Safety first.

Recommend this course highly if you are minded to try, and I’d suggest the professionalism display means all other courses and experiences will be similarly good. I don’t really need a reason to come back up here, but…

Also, highly commend the customer service and communication before the course. Super professional, helpful and understanding.

And note the sandwiches supplied were super-delux good.

Great experience, as I had fun and learned the basics of an important skill. And I consider the price to represent fantastic value. 👍🏻👍🏻

The 2 x day wilderness navigation course by ASM is great for both beginners and more experienced bush walkers wanting to build their confidence with navigating outdoors. I went in with zero experience using compasses and maps and am now confident with how to find my own way on hikes if I miss markers or drift off the track. The course also seemed great value for money - you get a lot of information and tips in the two days.

I was lucky enough to participate in this 1-day abseiling course and walked away with a plethora of information and practical skills to use in the future.

Brian, the guide, was very knowledgeable and experienced, and I felt comfortable being guided by him for the day.

Safety was key throughout the day, and I was able to obtain a level of comfort with abseiling as the day went on.

Definitely recommend this attraction to anyone who has some or even no skill in abseiling. Great for even just building up some exposure to it.

Will definitely be returning for future courses with ASM!

This was a fantastic day of abseiling and canyoning. Major props to trip leader Lauren, who managed a group of mixed abilities, ages and confidence with skill and empathy. Her communication was super-clear and we always felt supported - she spotted my kid was cold before I did and quietly got a jacket to them while simultaneously setting up a belay in a tricky spot. It's a long and physical day so some prior fitness will increase the fun. You will get cold by the end of the canyon even with wetsuits, so just accept it - the experience of being in that beautiful place is SO worth it.

Our private guide Harry again challenged us both (father and son) with great climbs that were exhilarating. Another great couple of days with ASM in the spectacular Blue Mountains. Thank you so much Harry and ASM.

I booked a day of rock climbing with a personal guide and had the most amazing experience, climbing Sweet Dreams. Lauren made a real effort to find me an available guide on short notice, and at a reasonable price compared to other companies. The day turned out just perfect, with the calm, competent and very friendly guide, Mika, giving me enough (but not too much) tips and reassurance to complete this amazing climb, feeling both safe, capable and thrillingly overwhelmed at the same time. I even did the last difficult pitch in one go, despite having doubts about my own climbing abilities doing a grade 17. The best confidence boost ever standing on the top! The timing was great as well, on a sunny winters day in the middle of the week. No other climbers on the route, dry conditions and good temperatures. Very grateful to Mika, giving me enough time to climb in my own tempo and enjoy the amazing views and amphitheater exposure along the way. No wonder they call this a classic Blue Mountains climb, perfect for first timers on a multi pitch climb. I definitely recommend it if you have some climbing experience and want to try out new heights. We even had time for some more climbing in the afternoon sun after finishing Sweet Dreams in no rush at all. For me, this was the experience of a lifetime!

My 15 yo son and I recently had a two day private introduction to rock climbing session with Lewis. From the initial booking and assistance in planning the two days, right through to the care and thoughtfulness that Lewis demonstrated in ensuring our personal goals were met, this was an excellent experience. We will be back! I recommend that you do speak with the instructor beforehand, just to give him or her an idea of your experience level and what you want to achieve. Keep the communication going during the course itself and you will get maximum value for the time you are investing.

Hi ASM

My fifteen year old son Marcus and I had a three day personal Guided rock climbing, abseiling and canyoning experience this last week. I feel greatly compelled to give a lengthy feedback on our experience with ASM but more so in regards to our private guide Harry Hill.

Our prior climbing experience was only at an inside climbing gym a half dozen times, we had never climbed outdoors before our booking with ASM. My son and I had no prior expectations or even new of ASM prior to making our booking which was simply the result of a google search on the internet. What took place over the next three days honestly blew our minds and has left such a positive impression that the memories and photos will be cherished for ever.

To begin with at the time of booking we were looked after very professionally by the ASM team, they were very friendly, helpful and left us feeling very confident in regards to making a booking. Although the true star of the show was Harry Hill. Not only was Harry professional in his conduct he made the whole experience so much fun that we will be seeking him out to be our personal guide for future adventures with ASM. Calling the experience fun is not doing it justice, Harry quickly assessed our capability and began to challenge, instruct and develop our skills by progressing us through higher levels of difficulty per climb, at the same time never overestimating or placing challengers that were not accomplishable. On a further note Harry was also so accomodating and flexible and gave us more time and experiences that we had booked for, one afternoon after the time that we should have called it a day he took us to Dam Cliffs at Kerma Crescent after hearing that Marcus loved diving of cliffs, we had never been or heard of the place and loved it so much.

We got so much more than we bargained for, the cost of the booking was insignificant in comparison to the return of the adventure and was well worth it. The blue mountains is truly a spectacular place.

Thank you Harry and ASM, it was truly awesome, we cant wait for our next booking.

Kind regards,

Phillip and Marcus
