Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This museum is in the old hospital building and each room has a different theme of artefacts. The gentleman who welcomed us on arrival was very friendly and liked a chat. The entry fee is very reasonable for the amount of time you could spend here immersing yourself in history.

I normally don't like museums but this one was in the old hospital and the displays covered a huge variety of topics and history. Very clean and well presented. $8 for seniors or $10 for adults. They have eftpos and you can make yourself a cuppa for a gold coin and sit in the little courtyard.

Absolutely brilliant - must see if you like your history!
Excellently presented HUGE amount of information.
Seeing the surgery in its original hospital room still set-up / connected to some equipment...amazing!
Give yourself at least an hour...don't rush or you're bound to miss something of interest.
And only $10 per adult (there's a tip jar if you wish to donate more) - excellent value.

Located in the old hospital, this museum is one of the most interesting we've visited. So much in such a relatively small space it will keep anyone interested for 1 - 1 1/2 hours or more. The free make yourself a tea or coffee facility is a great idea.

Wonderful museum with so much to see. Something for everyone. Would definetly be an eye-opener for teenagers to see how tough life was in those early years. Hats off to the community and volunteers who set up and run the museum.

Amazing collection of old artifacts. Looks small when you go in, but it’s huge! So many rooms full of all sorts! Kids are catered for too, with a hunt for the beardies. They loved it. Icy pole at the end! Don’t miss it!

This is the best kept history spit I have been too. Everything is in fantastic condition with plenty of range of sections. Everything from the old medical tools to dresses to kitchen to farm equipment.
I could not recommend this place more. They even give the kids a list of objects to find with a prize if they find them all!

The museum itself is in the former Glen Innes District Hospital.
This folk museum is something different and there are displays outside, as well as 22 rooms to go through.
The collections you will see here, are of the development of farmers, businesses and families throughout the history of the local area.
They do have limited opening times though, so check their website, so you don't miss out on this interesting experience.
