Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This item is pretty much in the middle of the city, with a fair bit of parking in close proximity. Once you park it will take a few minutes to walk there and read the plaques, and give the bell a dong... It is part of a world wide network of peach bells, so you might be visiting one of many during your travels... It wasnt on our list of must do's, but it was worth the few minutes it took to stop by.

Our first stop on the trip was to visit the Australia's World Peace Bell, the only one situated in an Australian country town and yes, we rang it.

I was impressed with the bell and my husband rang it, one of many to do so. It is rather impressive that it is in Cowra when they are normally held in Capital Cities, it is recognition to the part Cowra played in the 2WW effort.

This peace bell is one of a number around the world but most are in capital cities. In this day and age it is worth taking the time to ring it and contemplate our world.

At first glance it is not large and not very spectacular but when you consider it is only one of 16 around the world and the only one not in a major city it becomes more significant. It is a replica of the one in the UN in New York and was made from melted down coins from 106 UN Members countries. Definitely worth a look behind the Cowra Civic Centre.

The only Peace Bell outside of a world capital, made from coins from United Nation members, melted down and made into a bell.

The bell is located outside of the council chambers and was presented to Cowra in 1992. It’s simple structure provides protection for the elements and also hosts a brief audio story about the bell. Worth checking out if you are walking along the main street and it’s opposite the regional art gallery. Make sure you ring the bell.

Nice to see and understand it’s history. Very easy to find and all over in five minutes. Nice to be able to ring the bell.

I am sure the neighbours would not be too happy if you hit the bell. They must get tired of listening to it going off at all hours. Commentary was good.

We were walking back from Aldi to our motel and saw the bell. It has audio to tell you about the bell that activated when you walk in. We enjoyed ringing the bell.
