Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The bell is located outside of the council chambers and was presented to Cowra in 1992. It’s simple structure provides protection for the elements and also hosts a brief audio story about the bell. Worth checking out if you are walking along the main street and it’s opposite the regional art gallery. Make sure you ring the bell.

i was initially startled by the automatically-triggered recorded information when i entered the shelter - perhaps a little loud. interesting content though. i REALLY wished that this had been optional as during my circling of the bell, which was slow and contemplative as i meditated, it recommenced its loop, breaking my silence. probably ok if busy, but there was only me. ringing this bell was an important experience for me, just as were ringing the Hiroshima and Christchurch bells . thank you Cowra.

We walked past the World Peace Bell situated outside the council chamber.
A very impressive bell and quite significant being located in a country town of Cowra.
It was interesting listening to the story which comes on automatically. I personally really liked the tiles around the base of the structure.

The purpose of the peace bell is commendable, and it is a quick, easy and free stop - in the street beside town hall opposite the art gallery. I was expecting something larger and more inpressive, but this shouldn't take away from the merit of its presence and objective. Ring the bell! If driving through Cowra, you should stop here, if only for 5 minutes.

This peace bell is one of a number around the world but most are in capital cities. In this day and age it is worth taking the time to ring it and contemplate our world.

The Australian World Peace Bell has been awarded to Cowra and is usually located within capital cities.
It is located at Cowra’s Civic Square pavilion.
You can listen to an informative and historic audio which will inform you of the significance of the Bell and the recognition of World peace

Our first stop on the trip was to visit the Australia's World Peace Bell, the only one situated in an Australian country town and yes, we rang it.

I was impressed with the bell and my husband rang it, one of many to do so. It is rather impressive that it is in Cowra when they are normally held in Capital Cities, it is recognition to the part Cowra played in the 2WW effort.

The only Peace Bell outside of a world capital, made from coins from United Nation members, melted down and made into a bell.
