Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Well worth the short trip out of town and up the hill for the amazing views and abundant wildlife. We spotted countless kangaroos and wallabies who were shy but remained close enough for pictures. Cafe at the top though we did not partake.

Travel south/west from Cooma on highway for a few minutes. Turn left at big wagon that leads up to Miss Heidis Austrian teahouse and restaurent....A bavarian log cabin type with log fire that feels like something out of a Hanzel and Gretel story. Go past Miss Heidis and you are at the top with a 10 metre walk to lookout and viewing platform. There is a brass compass showing locations and distances on a rock plinth. Toilets and a walking track round Mount Gladstone with another lookout. Great to break your trip on way to the snow or coming back stop for Gluwein, krantsky, crepes, pancakes, goulash, sauerkraut, cheescakes, coffee, wine and more. Feels like Austria but with an Australian view.

Blown away, literally! It was blowing a gale when we visited and the temperature was only 10 but the wind chill was terrible. However it does afford great views of the area and of Cooma. A must see if you visit Cooma.

Take your camera as the view is 360 deg beautiful - rug up if cold because it is a little breezy up on the platform. Carparking is very near to the lookout

We drove up here just after 8am on a very foggy sunday morning. We had great views over the surrounding area and out to the mountains. It was quite pretty to see the layer of fog that was hiding the town of Cooma. The Australian bush is always stunning, and walking around the tracks here at this lookout certainly did not disappoint. As if on cue, a small group of kangaroos hopped across our path and disappeared into the bush.

The lookout had a spectacular view, but the best reason to head for Mt Gladestone is Miss Heidi's Tea Room which you pass on the way up. The most amazing pancakes. Don't miss a visit

Have always loved this lookout. Not far off the highway this short detour is well worth the view. From the viewing area you can see right over the district around Cooma. You can often see a kangaroo from the road as you drive up which is an added bonus.

Just a short distance out of Cooma you turn off up the left. You can see kangaroos on the way up to the lookout. Excellent views over Cooma. It's a great place to go where there is a bit of snow in town as they get even more up there and it's very pretty. Easy parking.

Brilliant views, well worth stopping and getting out of the car to stretch the legs.
You can see for miles, and it is not far from the main road.
Such a pity to drive past and not check it out.
