Lovely to swim here, late in the afternoon, in the Summer. The view is amazing. You will see fish, interesting rocks, various algae and lot of birds flying over to roost. The nicest part is the cool of the water after a hot day and...More

I went for the first time by myself. I was highly nervous because I didn’t know anybody and I didn’t know the place or rules. It took me half an hour to work up the courage to get comfortable. All for nothing. It’s an amazing...More

My first impression of this secluded beach area was that it was like no other! Very ambient atmosphere and the seawater was refreshing! The waves were an added bonus. You need to be careful to keep your feet off the ground when you’re in the...More

There is a vibe here that cannot be described. It is scenic, for sure. But it's more than that. Women being free to be themselves without scrutiny or fear is simply magical. I had expected it to be a mothers & children version of Wylie's,...More

I visited McIvers Baths on Monday. It's as special as the reviews suggest--just a quiet little hideaway in Coogee. You toss a gold coin into a big blue bin when you enter. There's grass, too...and rocks that women were using as places to sunbathe. It...More

Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the
smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi
Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs
that does not have big waves, making it an excellent
family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right
across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens
in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night
of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity
