Neighbourhood: Coogee
Very accessible by public transport, Coogee is the smaller, friendlier, more intimate version of Bondi Beach. Coogee is the only beach in the Eastern suburbs that does not have big waves, making it an excellent family beach. The Coogee Bay Hotel, located right across the beach, has one of the biggest beer gardens in Australia and plenty of entertainment every night of the week. Be on the lookout for celebrity footballers! A little further south is Wylie’s Baths, offering sweeping 180 degree views over the Pacific Ocean, and it is perfect for a swim or a few laps. Plenty of dining choices surround the beach, including the famous fish and chips.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We arrived in Coogee by bus to do the coastal walk to Bondi.
It is a lovely spot, beautiful beach.
We were told by some local gentleman to have a look at the Memorial in Dunningham Park.
We took that in before starting the walk .
There is a lovely memorial overlooking the beach dedicated to victims of the Bali bombing, very touching , brings back memories of that horrendous attack .

Grea views of he cliffs and he ocean. Easy walk and los of naĂŻve parrots and many other birds. On occasion, you might see a fox or two - do NOT feed these animals as they are not native and eat our native wildlife. It's a good place to be on a hot day as there is often a cool breeze.

I have enjoyed myself here today and the finer burst of weather guaranteed me a good time wandering around today. The grass was so green and verdant given all the recent rain in Sydney!

Pleasant walk with family along this rugged Coastline. Take a drink, hat and some sun cream even when it’s overcast it can catch you out.

This sits adjacent to Coogee Beach and has great views and one of the many interesting spots along the Bondi to Coogee walk. You get excellent views of the coastline to the south from here.

This is a really beautiful to take a walk, to relax, to enjoy the views, to have a picnic, you name it. We spent a few hours here and absolutely loved every minute. The views are breathtaking. There is also the Bali Memorial that is sure to bring tears to your eyes. And the Baths are there for those who are brave enough to do battle with the waves. The rock formations are amazing too. And the beach and the shops are literally a few seconds away. What more can you ask for! Great place.

This area located not too far away from the beach and the Coogee Pavillion is a small reserve with some amazing views, beautiful tree shade for your picnics and some places used by couples to become a family (weddings... just in case you are thinking something else).
If you have visited the Coogee rock poll (or you have done the Bondi to Coogee beach) there is no way you have not walked through this beautiful reserve.
If you are a new visitor and just want to chill out with a superb view of Coogee while enjoying the breeze under a tree, reading a book and drinking a smoothie you bought on your way there, this is your spot ;)
Optionally, get something to eat at one of the many restaurants Coogee has to offer and walk there. There is an amazing Danish ice cream store next to the Coogee Pavillion, get an ice cream there and walk to the rock pool

It may not be the point of attraction for average visitors but it represents a great place for visitors who know what to expect. The Reserve is at centre stage of Coogee Beach, Bondi to Coggee Walk, Bali Memorial and short distance to Giles Baths, Gordon Bays and Clovelly Beach. You will be rewarded with some most beautiful scene in Sydney.
If you treasure peaceful surrouding, this is a must visit, especially you are near Eastern suburb. The distance to Randwick is close too. The slope will provide you a walking exercise to the busy street is just 10 minutes away.

Great spot to enjoy the view!
You can go with family, friends or by yourself. It's ideal for a picnic or just to chill on the grass but be careful sometimes it can get really windy up there.
