A building that looks nice inside and out this is located right in the heart of Dandenong, one of the major suburbs in South-East Dandenong.
It is bright and airy inside and the seats have good line of sight to the stage. The amenities are conveniently located and there are plenty of food options around to add to your evening out.
Parking is an issue in Dandenong but you're probably going to be visiting the place of an evening when things are a little less hectic.

We throughly enjoyed OA’s performance of 'Marriage of Figaro' at The Drum Theatre, Dandenong mid-July. What a wonderful night!
Beautiful voices, all ‘round brilliant delivery of a favourite… Such a treat to have ‘all this’ in our backyard.
Refurbishment of the lovely old Town Hall has created a comfortable, convenient venue. Our seats were mid lower section with good view of the stage and cast, and sound throughout was perfect.
It was chilly for the time of year but free parking is nearby the theatre, and the train station is within walking distance or short taxi trip.
The Drum’s cafe is small but decent with reasonably priced offerings including a nice sparkling and even nicer red. Perhaps some sandwiches too, please?
Our coffee was lovely and the pre-order option for interval works well.

Booked dress circle seating on first door to see a performance; not recommended as it is too far to look down the stage. Toileting facilitates could improve with toilets installed in first floor rather than just ground floor; long queues during intermission. Very little seating in foyer and very cramped to cater for full booking.

very close to the station, the inside is not too big and some hallways can get crowded if the place is full. It was great for housing a bunch of senior year students for our Medea excursion.

What an amazing re-use of a classical building! It's great to see that the beauty of the outside is matched with an equally elegantly re-vamped, theatrical setting inside.
It's a joke among my friends, but they know I don't like to go to a show if I can't see "sweat"! With an auditorium of 500+ seats, EVERYBODY has a great seat and can see how hard the performers are working (ie the "sweat"). Guy and his support, Fatai, were both amazing. Guy is so talented... Of course, this was obvious, even in his early days in "the Fro-Zone" at the Palais. Today, he is a consummate song-writer / entertainer. I'm so proud of him! As for Fatai, some people don't bother to show up for the support act. Remember: Lady Gaga, Pitbull even AC/DC were "support acts" at one time.

This was our first visit and we were not disappointed. The venue was smaller than we imagined but it was brilliant. We had young children with us and the seats in front were sufficiently lower to ensure they had a great view. We watched the little mermaid and it was absolutely brilliant. Can't wait to come for another production. Great parking in council carpark too.
