Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Very limited parking so if full so just park at the base of the hill. The walk to the lookout point albeit short is very steep. There’s a handrail thankfully and you won’t take long to reach the top. At the top are 360 degrees of the town and surrounding hills as well as an information board explaining the significance of the name of the lookout (which I won’t reveal).

A challenging mini-hike is required to get to the top, but the view, overlooking every part of Queenstown, is spectacular.

Truly great views of Queenstown from the top, but certainly a tough pathway up there. The path could be looked after a lot better.

Once at the lookout, you are privileged to see a great overview of Queenstown and something of its historical nature. Also atop the hill is a cannon which has a rather amusing story of its own to tell. Well worth the walk up to learn about both.

Parked and after a quick look my wife decided to remain while I climbed to the lookout. Old blast furnace remains are 'housed' at the start of the climb, an untidy collection and then the climb up the path which looked as if it had been neglected for some time. The site of the old cottage was completely overgrown then a small clearing and a wheel with, I guess, a symbolic cart shaft attached. Finally gained the lookout, an exhausting climb. Panoramic views possibly worth the effort and not the most endearing lookout visited.

We visited Queenstown and went up to the Sion Kopf Lookout to get a good view of the town. The view from the lookout is great, even on a cloudy day, but the current state of the lookout area is not. It is overgrown with weeds and disrepair and such a shame. Also the lack of adequate parking is also another problem. The walk up to the top is steep. I think the Lions International look after the Lookout and maybe they need to have a working bee.

Steep climb, but worth the view over the town and towards the surrounding hills and mining remnants.

Short but steep 500m hike to the lookout. Commanding and spectacular 360 degree views over Queenstown and surrounding mountain ranges.

This short but steep walk gave a great view of the Gravel Oval. The sign said there was a cottage site but we couldn't find it.
