About
Sea kayaking is one of the best ways to explore the coastline and islands of tropical north Queensland. We have amazing encounters with dolphins, turtles, stingrays and other marine life while paddling around history rich Double Island. Tours are offered year-round catering equally for those seeking a peaceful paddle or a bit of adventure. Our sunrise and half-day tours run daily. Paddling techniques and safety information are clearly explained and demonstrated. Our highly stable single and double, sit on top, kayaks are well suited for beginners to experienced kayakers. Each tour visits Double Island and includes fresh fruits, sweet treats and juices. Half-day tours include snorkelling.

Brad was a fabulous guide for our kayak tour of the Palm Cove waters, friendly and knowledgeable. There was so much to see and the reef is absolutely fantastic. We’d do it again next time we visit. Highly recommend you give it a try.

We enjoyed a Sunrise Kayak adventure this week with Brad. We where lucky enough to see lots of turtle’s swimming to the surface, along with a sea eagle carrying his catch of the day and a shark on the sandbar. Brad is super patient and makes sure everyone is safe and enjoying the experience. Well worth the early start!

This was a great morning! We were late and the guide was super helpful to us. It was so beautiful. We took the kayak tour, but I wish we'd had time to do the half day snorkel. It would have been amazing--the water was so clear. We could see coral, turtles and more from the kayaks. Thank you for a really relaxing paddle in paradise.

Great morning out on the water this morning with Brad. Excellent conditions for kayaking. Were spoilt with lots of turtle sightings as well as dolphins and a few eagle rays (one even jumped out of the water!). Very informative morning. Enjoyed the little tour of double island and the mid morning snack. Will be recommending this to friends who come up this way. Best part of our holiday so far!

We had a fantastic early morning sunrise kayak tour with Brad. Brad is a knowledgeable local guide who is personable and engaging. It is more than a job to him. He ensured our comfort and safety throughout whilst enabling us to discover the exceptional nature and views of this area. Easy to book on line and definite value for money

Did this tour with a group of friends and had the BEST morning! We are locals and have seen plenty of islands, beaches and reefs, and this location is just as beautiful as any others you'll find in FNQ. Double island and scouts hat island are STUNNING, with the bonus that they are super easy to get to. It's incredible how much reef and wildlife you can see at this island which is just 30 minutes paddle from the mainland. We saw turtles, rays, harmless reef sharks, fish, coral, and more. Our guide Brad was super cool guy and told us lots of interesting and funny stories about the island, its history and native wildlife.

It's the height of the wet season and it rained on and off throughout the morning. We were given the chance to cancel or reschedule, but we weren't bothered by the rain at all and in fact it made the experience even more beautiful. DO NOT WORRY if it rains. You're going to get wet anyway kayaking, and it's hot work paddling, so it helped us cool off! The most important thing to check is the wind forecast. We had still conditions which made for mirror-flat water and easy paddling.

This tour can cater for anyone, but if you have some swimming ability and are relatively fit you will definitely get more out of it! We are quite fit so we got to go a bit further than normal and spend more time on the island.

We would happily do this tour again!

My friend and I did the half day kayak and snorkel tour with Brad a few days ago. It was by far the best experience of our whole trip! Brad was so lovely and we learned so much about the marine life around double island and scouts hat island. There was plenty of wildlife to see both from the kayak and snorkelling off the island, and it was such a fun day that left us with a whole lot more knowledge and some ideas for other experiences to explore while in far North Queensland. We can not recommend Palm Cove Water Sports highly enough. Cheers Bradamundi!

Our guide was super knowledgeable about the area and has a keen eye for spotting wildlife. We saw 2 pods of dolphins, sea turtles and an eagle ray jump out of the water, along with native birds and plants. The island is also home to a few friendly dogs. I'm glad we opted for the tour instead of just hiring kayaks ourselves, as we probably wouldn't have seen anything. Reef shoes, dry bags and snacks were provided. Definitely worth the early morning, and I'd recommend this company to everyone, it's the best option in the area. Absolute legend
