Parry Lagoon Peace and Quiet
Jun. 2021
Fabulous place to kick back and relax out of the chaos. Lovely staff who do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. Evening meals are good and you can join in the evening chit chat at the tables if you like. Good spot to access Wyndham and Kununurra. Great bird watching spots and good walks to take.

Great this time round
May 2021
Being a keen birdwatcher I love coming here. It can be hit and miss - depends on rainfall. I was here in early May 2021 and it was full of birds and lilies.

Oasis for birds beautiful rest stop to Wyndham
Sep. 2020
Visited this on the way to Wyndham from Kununurra. Were able to visit this with 2 WD. Absolutely worth going off road to see this water spot with many birds and a look out platform with info boards.

Interesting small picturesque lagoon
Jul. 2020
In middle of gravel country is this little picturesque lagoon. With lots of colours, lots of birds, big croc and a bird hide to view & or take photos of bird life.

Birdwatchers Paradise
Jul. 2019 • Family
If you stay at Parry Creek, make sure you check out the wetlands, bird lagoon. About 20 min or so drive across some dirt roads. Best visited late afternoon. Incredible bird life!

A wonderful array of birdlife
May 2019 • Couples
The range of birdlife is superb, scattered across a lovely billabong covered with long stemmed water lilies and with distant views to glorious mountains in all shades of reds and orange.

What an awesome wetland that you would not expect in a desert like environment.

A surprise
Mar. 2019 • Couples
Not far from Wyndham, and a relatively easy 4wd trip into the lagoons and surrounds, is this vast expanse of wetlands and its associated birdlife. There are ruins of an old overland telegraph outpost at a lookout, from which the panorama of the waterways can be taken in.
There are distant Kimberley escarpments, and depending on the weather, approaching or passing thunderstorms can be watched.
Beware though as this is still very much saltwater croc country, so don’t feel too comfortable around the various water crossings and swampy areas. We saw one very fresh croc nest next to the track.
And pay attention to the weather as the tracks might seem ok going in, but add water from a storm and you could be spending the night/days with some big reptiles.

Bird watching

Lovely spot out of Wyndham with a great number of bird life. Even in the drier months there are still Brolga pairs and many others to see.
