Prettiest Gorge
May 2021 • Couples
By far the prettiest gorge on the Gibb. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves for about five minutes! The walk is ok, if I can do it anyone can! The swim and the serenity at the end is so worth it!!

Get there early!
Apr. 2021 • Couples
The great pool at the end of the gorge is breathtaking and fabulous to swim in especially if you can do it alone. We left the lodge at 0715. Two other couples passed us heading back but for 10 minutes we had the pool to ourselves. The way up is pretty challenging in the first half but improves contrary to the sign on the trail.

Worth the walk!
May 2021
Wear sturdy shoes, the walk is a little challenging in parts but so worth it when you get to the gorge. The water is very cool, and a good idea to take swim shoes to walk in on the rocks, but be brave and take a swim to the base of the waterfall. The best part is you are warm when you hop out.

Rocky walk but definitely worth doing
May 2021 • Couples
Emma gorge is stunning. The walk in is very rocky and uneven. Ensure you wear good footwear. This walk is not for the faint hearted. Easy for the young and fit but we saw elderly people really struggling with the uneven rocky path. Quite a bit of scrambling over large boulders is treated with a spectacular treat on arrival. You can have a swim at the first emerald coloured pool. Do not be tempted to stop here! Keep venturing up and discover the true gem at Emma Gorge. Stunning and well worth doing

Beautiful Emma Gorge
May 2021 • Solo
I loved this gorge so much I did the walk twice in my six day visit! The most challenging part is the heat, the walk itself is very manageable. There is a fair bit of walking along dry creek bed so if you have dodgy ankles or knees you need to take your time. A couple of slightly strenuous parts but mostly fairly flat and a reasonable amount of shade. Bonus is that no matter how hot you get you know you can cool off in the beautiful pool at the end :) definitely not one to miss in a visit to ELQ

We are staying at ElQ, but couldn't book at the restaurant,.... it was suggested that we book for diner at Emma gorge.. 4 adults and a 3 month old. So glad we did... lovely atmosphere, awesome food, fantastic service...... thank you to the friendly, helpful staff at Emma Gorge restaurant...great hospitality, you made our night, and a fitting end to a wonderful Mothers day... special mention to Caylee, who looked after us with the perfect measure of care, warmth, and attentiveness.... and a great smile 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

A lovely hike to a stunning waterfall and thermal spring. Hike is not hard, but a fair amount of climbing over rocks. About an hour to the falls. Water is amazing and clear. Loved it

Warning gate closes at noon and no admittance permitted
Apr. 2021 • Family
We were gutted to travel for hours and arrive at 11.30 and read the gate would be locked at 12 and no trespassing allowed. Multiple calls to el questro went unanswered despite them advertising themselves as open.

Great place

A great walk. Could be challenging if you aren’t too fit but good for most people. The gorge is beautiful particularly closer to the middle parts of the day where the sunlight reflects off the walls. Great care at the start/end of your walk
