Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This place was well worth the climb up to the top. It was steep but not arduous, taking about 30 minutes to reach the top where stunning views await. I could have sat up there for hours!

Interesting views of Elephant Rock or the Sleeping Buddha, dependant of course where you are viewing from. Worthwhile if time, mixed with other places you are visiting

We wanted a cool small hike and chose to do the elephant rock walk up. The drive in was narrow, sandy and you will need to park at the end of the trail and walk right up between the two rock hills. The walk was quick and pretty easy to follow. It’s a constant climb up, when you get up to the top you keep on walking until you get to the second rock tower and it’s a slightly narrow path with the cliff right beside you. The views are worth everything, it’s spectacular!

Officially it is the Carlton Range but is more generally known as Elephant Rock or Sleeping Buddha and it is a short distance from Kununurra on Packsaddle road or the Ord River. The best view (as Sleeping Buddha ) is from Celebrity Tree Park in town. You can get up close to the rock by travelling the Ord River.

This is more correctly known as the Carlton Range and is a few kilometers out of Kununurra. From town around the Celebrity Tree Park it looks like a Sleeping Buddha but along the river or packsaddle Road it is also seems like an Elephant because of its size and can go by either name..
