Although most visitors seem to go here on a day trip from Puntas Arenas, I would recommend to stay in Punta Delgada at the hostal and visit the park for a full day. The light in mornings and late afternoons is magical, and there is...More

it's a really good place to go, to enjoy the peaceful and nature of patagonia. You can do some "short hikings" on the park. Tons of guanacos and rheas. Recommend this place to go with family. Be careful with the rocks on the road beacuse...More

We rented a car in Punta Arenas to get to NP Pali Aike for a daytrip. We entered the park and apparently there were only 3 other visiting cars in the park. We first went to the lagoon. That was really cool. Lots of guanacos...More

The landscape of Pali Aike is beautifully bizarre and unlike other areas in this region. We watched ibis nesting in volcanic craters, baby rhea and guanacos intermixed in high abundance, and colorful arid plant-life. There are three campsites in the park for vehicles with on-board...More

Compared with some of the more touristy attractions in the area, this place was practically deserted (possibly due to having to drive to get there?). A very interesting park with lots of wildlife, Guanacos, Rheas, Gray Zorro (fox), and especially interesting volcanic landscape. It is...More

The park is not big you can make it in 4-6 hours, the entrance fee is 3000 p.P. You will see a lot a volcanic rock, craters, foxes, nandus and guanacos. We even saw a skunk at the lagoon. We had heavy rains the night...More

echoing other people's reviews. It's amazing. it's flat, with volcanic craters. felt like a different planet... a little like iceland. LOTS OF TAME GUANACOS!!! didn't see any pumas though...fortunately. best part is there was only one other group there...love the isolation. also some confusing fences...couldn't...More

Visited Pali Aike with a friend as a day trip from Punta Arenas with a rented regular car in march 2015. It was the last sight I visited, after 3 months of traveling down the length of Chile, and even amidst the countless and very...More

This park will give you a feel for southern Patagonia (not the mountainous part as it's flat) plus you see some great volcanic craters. The Park is essentially deserted. It was VERY windy when we were there, which is actually kind of cool. There are...More

This place is quite surreal. If you're drawn to gorgeously desolate places, it is worth the 2:45 drive from Punta Arenas. Also, you're basically guaranteed to see Guanacos and likely to see Rheas.

There is a hostel/hotel maybe 20km (40 min) from the park entrance! There are three campsites within the park, but they are available only for vehicles with onboard toilets. A local guide told us that he camped outside of... More
