Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We liked it so much we bought a house there! Great for kayaking swimming a d snorkeling. There are two restaurants there within walking distance of any of the hotels, or rental villas. They will soon be opening up another restaurant. There are also toe dive shops, and tour companies. Across the road from Casa Centoe, is Manatee Cenote where dive instructors give lessons. This is a great bay for couples, families, or single people.

When people dream of going to the beach, this is the beach they see in their visions.

Soft, white powdered sugar is the sand of choice and sparkling turquoise Caribbean seas is the ocean you feast upon.

It's not crowded and it's not crazy busy like Tulum or Playa del Carmen.

It's a beach for serenity and peace. It's a place to reclaim those moments of your life that have sped by and which you haven't been able to retain.

While you relax your body, your soul blooms and prospers.

You will jump in the waves like a kid, and pose in the ocean backdrop like a model.

You will feel joy as the day deepens and the colors of the ocean and sky change.

You will feel ecstatic as you swim and play up close and personal with the many fish.

You will think you've stumbled upon the beach of all beaches...and you will be right.

The local restaurants are fab.

If you are lucky enough to be at this beach...then you are lucky enough.

We just returned from a one week stay at CASA CAVU. In all our vacation experiences, we have yet to find our paradise, however, CASA CAVU has potential. Actually, there are many homes situated in Tankah Bay that may rightfully claim a piece of paradise. The homes are at peace within 50-100 feet from the Bay. Some of the best snorkeling may be reached within steps of each house. The Bay is nestled between Akumal and Tulum, about 110 km south of Cancun. A private road of residences may be accessed with 24/7 security. The water is warm, with soft rolling waves in which a
two year old would love to wade and feel safe.

The CASA CAVU house (each of the homes are uniquely named), pool and grounds (thanks to Isidro & Rocio - resident caretakers) are spectacular. In short, although we loved Casa Cavu and Tankah Bay, full disclosure is necessary, namely, SARGAZO (sargasso) aka seaweed.

One can expect tropical storms or even a hurricane in this part of the world, especially during the month of June. However, we were never advised or warned that huge amounts of sargazo would play a major part of our trip. The attached pictures only provide a visual. There was an odor and a stench at all not pleasant. And, after a few days of seaweed build-up, we were unable take the kayaks out to the bay due to the large walls of seaweed blocking access to the water. See pictures. While some property owners attempted to control the sargazo, Casa Cavu did not. Although in fairness, it would take a full time person, every day, all day to rake, scoop, wheel barrow and haul away the seaweed, it was that prevalent. We complained to the property manager, but no relief was offered. Apparently, there is a major invasion of the sargazo even in Cancun and along the coasts of Louisiana and Florida.

Absent the sargazo and/or the inability of the property owner to daily clean (maybe a sargazo cleaning fee?), we would consider a return to CASA CAVU in hopes of finding and experiencing our paradise.

We think the Tankah Tres beach is one of the best we have ever seen. The reef keeps the waves low and is ideal for snorkeling, swimming or kayaking. There is a popular Cenote right off the beach!

A wonderful beach that hasn't been ruined by the big all in ones, Tankah is a gem of a beach. Nice white sand, good swimming and a couple of good restaurants and a nice BandB. Stay away from the horrible resorts and come to Tankah. You won't be disappointed.

Right by the Casa Cenote sign there is a cenote in the back that is very cool. Not as many fish as good salt water spots but unique rock formations and fresh water fish. There are few spots to rest as the mangoves go to the edge so you might want a floatation device if you are not a great swimmer. You can rent stuff there. The cenote flows underground to out front in the ocean. Beach is rocky but it is very unique as the fresh water blows the smaller salt water fish around like there are in the wind. Angel fish blowing in the wind. Only place I have ever seen this type of thing. Like a comedy fish show under water.

Tankah Bay is the perfect spot if you wish to get away from the crowd. The bay is a nice community of private houses, most of which are available to rent. Pretty much half way around the bay you will find a little restaurant called Casa Cenote, where you can have a bite to eat, or a drink. It's laid back and friendly, and they also rent snorkeling gear - very nice snorkel, I especially enjoy the north end of the bay.

Excellent stay on Soliman Bay, with privacy and security at night on the entrance of the road....a beach hut, fresh fish restaurant, under the palms for lunch at the end of the road....snorkeling and kayaking and swimming out in protected sand beach bay....no crowds, no naked people, no bar noise....lovely.

One of the best afternoons I've had was in this beautiful beach, a very lonely one but with a special charm.
The beach is connected to the exit of a cenote at Parque Tankah and you can feel the combination with the cold water from the cenote and the warmth from the mexican caribbean sea.
Don't hesitate on visiting this place!

We went to casa cenote and where told there was a restaurant at the end of the road through a gate. We drove and found ourselves at a beautiful beach with a small restaurant, all tables on the beach under the palms kitchen back a bit further, and hammocks strung under the trees. We drank beer, ate shrimp, snorkeled and, this time, decided against a massage although it was tempting. I am not going to tell you anything else because discovery was half the fun. Please go.
