I've booked 5 private lesson package for my 2 boys aged 6 and 8. Had our first session with Chris and WOW can't believe how knowledgeable, patient and instructive he was. Had both boys up and riding waves with their longest being 15 seconds each! Incredible experience that all kids should do to learn safety and respect for the sea whilst having fun.

Fantastic surf school. Our 2 kids had Stefano who is a highly experienced surf coach and he was amazing with them - fantastic coaching and kids had so much fun as well. Highly recommend!

So amazing! We got a private lesson for our 11y/o who was a total beginner. We couldn't be more thrilled with the entire experience. So great to see him standing up riding the board and smiling after just one lesson.

My family had a private lesson with Chris and it was fantastic. Our youngest son who was a little apprehensive came away from the experience with a huge smile after catching 3 waves.
I also enjoyed the coaching and Chris is someone with a wealth of knowledge and experience of surfing.
I would strongly suggest taking a private lesson where the coach on duty can focus their attention on you and have you riding a waves and feeling the thrill of surfing your first time out.

I hired a board from Chris and booked a lesson for the following day. Waves were small that day so he offered me options of full refund, go out anyway, or reschedule for the following day which we did. When it came to the lesson he said he had been watching me playing on the board the day before which helped him know what I needed to learn. The lesson was great, and he was patient and kind as well as helpful and encouraging. Thoroughly recommend this guy as an instructor, and I couldn’t fault the whole experience

Amazing first surf lesson! There was four of us in the water and it wasnt too cold. They have wetsuits included and the coaching is amazing!

We were two girls who didn't expect it would be possible to catch a single wave at our very first lesson. But we did! and it was an awesome experience with very helpful guidance from our nice instructor Taylor!

We run the Weet-bix Surf Groms program just for kids and this is offer from 5-12yrs old. All programs are available to view and book online at the surfgroms website

Do you do the surfing lessons in July? We are from NZ, and are stays in Coolum from 6th July til 10th July. Family lesson

Yeah they do do the surfing lessons then. But it will be cold. Maybe not for you Kiwi's but us Aussies will be too soft to be at the beach then!
My sons are coming over to Coolum for a school camp from Singapore.they are aged 11 yrs. they would love to learn surfing ( it's part of their camp itenerary) but are very wary of surfing and injuring themselves. Is surfing safe for such young kids as they have never ever done that before though they are proficient swimmers?

Ranjini, yes it is very safe. My kids were (both girls) did the surfing lesson and they were aged 5 and 7 at the time. They loved it, and we loved it. A great experience and the people at the Coolum surf school were very professional!
