About
Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park is located 27km south of Katherine and is easily accessible from the Stuart Highway. The park covers 1499 hectares of limestone landscape, and is home to five species of bats, including the rare Ghost and Horseshoe bats. About 170 species of birds have been recorded within the park, including the Hooded Parrot and the endangered Gouldian Finch. Tropical cave systems like those in Cutta Cutta Caves Nature Park are limited in Australia and are therefore of scientific and conservation interest and are the primary season the area has been declared an official Nature Park.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Visited the caves today with our 5 year old, 3 year old and 22 month old sons and was disappointed with our experience. Our tour guide told us twice to keep our 22 month old quiet as he was too loud and it was echoing through the cave. Our son was hardly making any noise, just the odd sound every now and then that a toddler makes. She also told off another family with two young boys, who were hardly making any noise, as well as our 3 year old for making shadows with lights. The other family were also offended by her comments. She recommended we stay back from the group due to our children meaning we would not get the experience we paid for. This ruined our experience. We have done many tours and not once have we been told off due to our children making noise. If children are not allowed to make any noise then this tour is not ideal for young children.

James was our guide going into the caves, a Yarwin man, with great knowledge and a sense of humour. James gave us information that helped us to understand the indigenous history, the white mans version but also the scientific version. The cave has good access but you need to wear enclosed footwear and it is a little tight in spots. We saw a Bandy Bandy snake hidden in a crevice which James knew was there and he made sure we were safe. Great tour! Thanks to James.

Great little trip to Cutta Cutta Caves, walk through in about an hour with a very knowledgeable guide Sarah who clearly knows her stuff also jokes along the way.
Not an expensive trip which is well worth the visit. I think the early morning or later in the day would be the smaller groups which would be nice too.

Great tour of the caves. The guide Jasmine was very knowledgeable and presented the info in an interesting way. My daughter (5) was a bit apprehensive about going into the cave but Jasmine was very kind and encouraged her. She pointed out all the Frozen crystals to her. Seeing the snake was a highlight. I’d recommend the tour to others.

we enjoyed the tour, quite easy to get there, very good parking and the actual tour was easy to do.

The guide at the desk was very good in providing information on the tour, the challenges and difficulties - the difficulties were minor some pinch points, 60 steps etc.

the walk to and through the caves were not challenging, quite easy to do.

the only down side was that the guide expressed her opinion on stuff, rather than just providing facts.

its popular, so book in advance.

About 20 minutes south of Katherine, the Caves can only be visited on a guided tour which lasts one hour and is conducted several times a day during the season.

The caves were interesting, providing an example of a tropical cave system subject to distinct wet and dry season. The guide we had was excellent and very knowledgeable. Worth a visit.

The best guided cave tour I have ever done. Our guide, Alan, was informative and had great knowledge of the cave and surrounds. We were fortunate to be part of a small group of only 4 couples. We were lucky to see two different snake species in the cave on our tour. The limestone formations were impressive as was the history of the cave

We were about 20km south of Katherine when we passed the turn off. Having Googled it we found yours ran on the hour. Given it was 10.55am we did a U turn. You must be wearing enclosed shoes to do tour. Christie our guide was very passionate, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. The caves exceeded our expectations. The infrastructure was excellent making it very accessible and the formations in general were well preserved. Well worth a visit. Easy parking even with a van.

The tour guide was interesting and informative, but the cave itself was quite bland. There weren't any amazing geological features but it was certainly OK to visit for an hour or so. There is apparent wildlife in the caves but none were visible or active during our tour. Our teen daughters seemed happy enough with the tour but without a great deal of excitement.

Easy booking process. Caves were very cool in the heat of the day. Jamie, our guide, was laid back and very informative. The ice creams at the kiosk were very cold and enjoyable. Thanks again Jamie for a great tour.
