Well presented with lots to look at. Very informative on the history of Katherine and the surrounding area. Visual displays are good but lots of reading.

Only $10- for adults to wander around this really interesting museum. Some things to see outside, but most are indoors. The large shed where the Gypsy Moth airplane is housed, is air conditioned with lots of comfy chairs if you need a break. There is so much information in this huge shed which explains everything you need to know about the history of Katherine. There are toilets and a gift shop and cold drinks to purchase. We thoroughly enjoyed our hour and a half at the museum.

The museum is well worth a visit. There is so much to learn about the history of Katherine and the indigenous people. It is nicely laid out and the staff were very helpful and informative.

This museum has a lot of exhibits but the highlight for me was an ABC video describing the 1998 flood. It went for a long time but it was compelling.
There was information about the Jap bombing in WWII. There was also some history of Tindal.
Another building had historic telecommunications gear. Yet another, air conditioned building, had the gypsy moth that was used by the flying doctor.
Around the museum was a lot of decrepit machinery in poor condition.
The gardens are pretty but no dogs. Goodness knows why. We did not bother.

The museum is a pretty basic one with bits and pieces but nothing really too exciting.$10 entry fee and I think the most interesting thing was the old Telegraph items.Lots of old vehicles in the gardens and the plane out the back

I though this was well worth the $10 entry fee. If you like to find out about the local history, and can read a little, this is a great place to visit. There are four building to visit, all be it one is quite small (telegraph building). I believe that this is a place you should ensure you visit.

For $10 there was really nothing great deal to see. We were in and out within 1/2-45 mins, to us it felt more like a junk yard than a museum. Lady pretty much rushed in telling us in what was in what sheds,

Popped in because we were staying just next to at Knotts Crossing Resort. Was great to learn some of the local history and the timeline when things happened. Was some video to see about the big flood in the 80s.
