Spectacular all year - see this area from the ground in the dry season, and from the air in the wet season. The Jim Jim Area is only accessible by 4WD during the dry season. Visitors can explore the spectacular and challenging walks or take a boat shuttle ride to Twin Falls over crystal clear waters (charges apply). Scenic flights are also very popular, and allow visitors to see the spectacular Jim Jim Falls, which are in full flow only during the wet season

We did a Spirit of Kakadu 4WD trip to Jim Jim and Twin Falls. We were picked up at our accommodation in Jabiru and taken to Cooinda to board the 4WD bus. Its a trek into Jim Jim and once we got out of the bus it was still a 900m walk/clamber over a rocky path. We loved it but... More

We visited Jim Jim falls as part of a group with Kakadu Tourism, which obviated the need to hire a 4WD. The walk up to the falls requires a fair degree of fitness and suppleness as the last 100m or so is scrambling over boulders, many of which have been 'polished' by the water in the wet season. But its... More

The drive and then walk into Jim Jim is worth the effort. Even in the dry with little to no water running over the falls, it is still a spectacular site to visit. Nature at its best.

We travelled with Adventure tours over the dirt road into Jim Jim Falls and then our tour guide helped us navigate our way to the falls. It was tough going and I see from other reviews that some people gave up in their own vehicles. Not only are the roads difficult but once you try to reach the falls you... More

The pools beneath the falls were a welcome cooling off and relaxing spot after a long trip to reach them. In early August there was no water flowing, but the experience made the tough hike worthwhile. The tourist guide states the walk to the falls should only be undertaken by those who are fit and agile. Take note, as here... More

The road as at 3 Aug 16 was terribly corrugated...some of the worst I've experienced and even in my 4WD I became concerned about having to drive too fast to smooth put the ride. I grant the road access says "4WD only". But the road is in sore need of a grader and drivers that can stick to the 60kmh... More

We visited in late july, and the waterfall was barely flowing, however we still had a great day and the scramble across the rocks is quite challenging. You would have to be quite physically fit and steady over boulders to get to the fals. Wouldn't recommend visiting in a 2wd car, we were in a 4wd and the track would... More

While my visit here was fabulous there has not been a big-wet and only a mist of water was flowing. Just as one might expect but it still disappointed due to all the gorgeous photographs from the wet. Having said that the wall of rock and pools were were simply breathtaking. While fabulous do not let drive to see this... More

A bit late in the season and no waterfall but the surround, the water pool was great. The last 200 to 300 meters to the beach was challenging, large rocks sometimes boulders to get around or over. But worth the trip. The area prior to the falls is beautiful. No worries about swimming in the plunge pool at the base... More

First of all dont forget you need a 4WD Bush waking mountain climbing swimming and watching amazing view for sure its exactly what you want to do when you go outdoor. I highly recommend this place . Me and my friends enjoyed everything that was there . You will never forget the palace especially if the waterfalls are running.
