Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I am not a Catholic and therefore did not know what to expect when I visited this Basilica. I can say this, I felt the presence of the HOLY SPIRIT so much so that I spent time in prayer there. This basilica is beautiful and it is filled with the presence of God.

It is breathtaking; I guess about 12 meters tall and so perfect.
Just seeing this makes the trip to Chignahuapan worthwhile.
A hidden wonder.

Impressive statue in the church. Surrounded by great number of stores with Christmas spheres. Worth the visit, better in weekdays as in late November and December it is too crowded on weekends.

Interesting tour through the Christmas ornament factory, but the town of Chignahuapan is even more interesting. Great artesanias for sale!

Chignahuapan in the state of Puebla, is a little and enchanting town that can be visited on the way to Zacatlán or to another spot in the mountain region of this state. Don't miss to stop in this Basilica, which holds a 15 meter-high-statue of the Virgin Mary, the highest in Latin America. Very impressive, beautiful and inspiring piece of work from our mexican artists.

Bad experience we have been traveling for years we are religious tourism and this time we were told either you stay to the celebration or you do not enter, it should be noted that we were delayed in time because there is a lot of traffic, and if I stay to the celebration it leaves my transport. Suggestion a corridor behind the image to be able to pass without having to stay long I think is a possible solution.

A very nice church in the center of Chignahuapan. Beautiful stained glass windows and the impressive virgin. A visit that is worth it if you go for a walk or shopping in Chignahuapan.
