Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We visited Grgic Vina enroute to Korcula. In April we visited Chateau Montelena in Calistoga, CA and learned that Mike Grgic was their winemaker when their Chardonnay won 1st place in the 1976 Judgement of Paris… we had to make the pilgrimage to his Croatian winery.
We were not disappointed. The location is surreal and the Posip and Plavac Mali were worth the trek.

Nestled on a hill overlooking the ocean is there Beautiful facility. Either indoor or on a covered outdoor patio. Sister winery in California ( Grgich Hills). Spend 30 minutes or several hours enjoying the sea breeze and the wine. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff

What can I say, you are paying for the Grigic name, we had to buy his wine just to experience the Grgic magic in his native land having enjoyed it in Napa. This fantastic wine both the Plavac Mali and the Posip try it, you will not be disappointed but it is expensive in comparison to other local wines.

Terrific wine. Just enjoyed the Posip - a wonderful summer white. Sad that the pine forest was burned down in a bushfire. But still visit if you can

There was a fire last year in this region of the peninsula. It seems that almost everything on Grgic was burned including vineyards and tasting room. As of currently they only had 2 wines for tasting and they don't even have a Dingac. We were disappointed in their selection and the taste wasn't very good either. Maybe it will better once they rebuild. But it's a beautiful location.

Total Abuse.
Overpriced wine tasting! 25€ for 3 small samples of wine a slice of prosciutto and a couple of cheese slices.
The hostess was ok, but needs a little more knowledge. Not worth your money.

We stayed nearby 6 days and visited the winery one afternoon. The view is lovely to the sea. I tried Plavac Mali and Posip and both was very nice even for me, who does not drink much wines in general.

I hope this is the same place we went to (Sunj Vina)
What an excellent experience! We loved sampling their fine wines and hearing the history of the vineyard. The wine to take away was also reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

In Chile, Nobel laureate Pablo Neroda the poet is a
national hero. In Mexico it's muralist Diego Rivera and his
artist wife Freda Kahlo.
In Croatia, California wine pioneer and local boy Mike Grgic
is a national hero. Mention wines and Croatian stand prouding
proclaiming how David (Mike) defeated the Goliaths (French) in
a 70s wine tasting establishing California Chardonnays
as a world champ veriatal from the states.
This is Mike's home village and you can learn how he has
re-invested and put on the map ... the Croatia wine industry.
There is a second excellent boutique operation, Sunj Vina, right in
the heart of downtown Trstenik .. remember it's a village.
And no cruise ships.
