About
We welcome visitors to our cellar door, located at the winery in the heart of the Gimblett Gravels wine region. Originally a working part of the winery, the cellar door is an impressive space with 5 metre-high ceilings and a great view of our white barrel hall through a huge sliding glass door. Here you can purchase from our full range of award winning wines and a wide selection is open for tasting. You can even pick up a bottle or two of something special – wines only retailed through the cellar door – or take home a souvenir of your visit from our quality branded merchandise. Our lovely gardens and expansive lawn make the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic – you can make up your own platter from our selection of delicious produce. In the summer we often have live music and hot food available at weekends, just check the events section of our website. The cellar door team are a knowledgeable and friendly bunch who will guide you through our wines and answer your questions. They might even have a bottle of something “not on the list” for you to try, especially at weekends. In the summer(October – Easter), we are open 7 days a week for sales and tasting (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day and Good Friday 10.00am – 5.00pmWinter (After Easter – September) we're open Wednesday through Saturday 11.00am – 4.00pm We do ask that larger groups, mini-bus groups and tours book in with us in advance. Tasting charges apply.

Good selection of wines most of which were available for tasting. Sat outside and the wines were brought to us. Useful explanation of each wine was given. Made this a very good wine tasting.

Another visit to Trinity Hill - always an excellent experience. This time we were greeted by Ziggy the large black dog who kept us entertained while we sat outside with a picnic and a couple of bottles of wine. Very nice tasting and we chose The Gimblett this time (we usually prefer the Tempranillo) as it was better suited to the day. As usual great experience and we left very happy with Trinity and the staff. Ziggy thoroughly enjoyed pretending to round up sheep on the neighbouring hills - just did it all from the vicinity of our table watching the actual sheep dogs doing the work and passing barking comments from time to time. Very funny to watch

We popped into Trinity Hill as the final stop in a mini-tour of 3 wineries. The tasting space there is lovely and very well thought out, if a little on the dark side. We were given an interesting range of wines to try, which was kindly adapted to some special bottles they had open and what we had said we were interested in. Plenty of context and history was given alongside the tasting, which was a lovely experience overall.

Probably our third visit this season - as usual totally friendly and cheerful greeting - we'd booked as it's been a bit busy lately and table was all set up ready for us to have a taste - Hepa came and chatted his way through the tasting (while wearing a blanket and his usual hat - he's an excellent host and a laugh a minute). To our dismay (we're red drinkers) the Pinot Gris was more than acceptable which is a bit of a worry - are our tastes changing? Then we had the Tempranillo and all was well with the world again. We'd brought a small picnic with us and had that while indulging in a bottle of Tempranillo and the Blend - both delicious. Once again a really good afternoon with really nice wine and an excellent host - all the staff there are great and we do enjoy our visits

We arrived for our scheduled tasting in the late morning. The place was busy, with the harvest and the busy wine-making occupations going on all at once. We were received warmly and were given a brief tour of the winery and a relaxed opportunity to taste Trinity Hills' wines. This winery produces almost 20 different wines, with grapes grown in different areas. The Sauvignon Blanc is outstanding, and so is the Restless Heart Chardonnay. I enjoyed their Marsanne-Viognier blend too, but then, I love Rhone varietals. Trinity produces several Sirahs, a Pinot Noir, a Montepulciano and a Tempranillo, as well as a couple of Ports. Clearly, their top wines are outstanding, but this winery continues to explore ways to exploit terroir to the max, by experimenting with new varietals. Great visit.

Visited here with my aunt and uncle and really enjoyed it. Staff were really helpful and friendly explaining the wines really well. Outside of the basic wine tasting they let us try some other wines which was great and we left with four of their lovely bottles to take home!

An interesting building in a good setting.
We have been coming here on and off for many years now and the only thing that has changed is less wines to taste.
They make a wide range but only have 6 to taste. (I remember spending an hour or so tasting probably 15 wines. Ah, those were the days. )
The tasting experience is excellent with very individual attention from a knowledgeable, interested person.
The wines aren't cheap but they are good, and good value.
Only purchased 4 this time.

HI Wayne Thank you very much for your feedback. We are normally flexible and when asked let you taste anything in the range but as foot traffic is heavy at this time, we recommend 6 wines in a standard tasting. Hope we see you back back some time soon and thanks again!

We did a wine tour of 3 vineyards recently and thoroughly enjoyed all 3 in the Hawke’s Bay Area.Trinity Hills however was the exception. It was so good that we called 2 on the same day.
The wine tasting we received was excellent and so informative.Approximately 6 tastings. The wine was so good that we purchased 1 bottle of reasonably expensive wine.On payment we were informed that the wine tasting for 4 people would be waived. How generous is that? The staff here know how to treat people. The welcome is superb and we were very impressed. We then left to go to another vineyard nearby but returned shortly to Trinity Hills to complete our day.
Definitely the best vineyard we visited.Thank you so much for an amazing time and by the way the wines were superb.!!.

Good to taste wines with excellent explanations and an opportunity to try their port. However what was fascinating was to try two separate grape varietals that go into their port style wine as separate single tastes. Its always fun to pick out the elements of the two separate grapes that you like that make taste of the wine work

Hi Derek, Thank you for taking the time to review your visit. We really appreciate your feedback and yes indeed, it is really great to deconstruct the wines/ports sometimes and work out where all the flavour profiles are coming from. Thank you again. Regards, Cara, Sales and Marketing Associate.
