Here you can enjoy an excellent hot chocolate "Mexican style" (with chili and cinnamon). Really yummy, and great on cool days. But: unfortunately only available in an NZ$ 11 (eleven) package that adds one (1) praline. Alternatively, for the same price you can have an espresso with two (2) pralines. The latter 'deal' makes each praline cost about $3 each... More

After a pub lunch we thought we would have an ice cream before catching the boat. Fortunately we came across Newport Chocolate first and had the most delicious cup of hot chocolate. A must!

My friend found this chocolate shop and insisted that we take a trip to Russell so she could share it with me. I have since returned several times and it is now my new favorite. The shop is small and includes the kitchen which allows you to watch as owner Leonora makes the chocolates. I find the process fascinating and... More

Sadly as I walked in to, all excited to treat myself to some fancy chocolate, the lady behind the counter didn't even come over to the counter. I could see she was doing something... More

A wonderful addition to Russell. An amazing selection of chocolates, and very helpful staff. Your selection of chocolates can be beautifully packaged if you are buying as a gift. I would thoroughly recommend visiting this shop when you are in Russell.

Stopped iin Russell after a ride to Hole in the Rock. Well worth the stop! We selected a few flavors and then nibbled on them while waiting for the ferry back to Paihia. Chocolates never made it to the ferry. Well worth the stop in Russell!

The sleepy but charming town of Russell is most fortunate to have a life-support system in the form of Newport Chocolates to prevent the place from sinking completely into a mid-winter coma. A wet and blustery August morning saw us wandering along Russell's beachfront precinct in search of a morale booster. Frustration levels were mounting as we learned that several... More

We were served by the owner who delivered a quality service and was more than happy to chat with us about his creations. We ordered a variety of chocolates as well as a hot chocolate each (one of the best hot chocolates we have ever had) and wow everything was exquisite...the chocolates not only look beautiful but taste amazing and...
