The only fully endorsed Surfing New Zealand approved Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) school in the top of the South Island, with a full range of boards available. Moana Paddle Nelson are located right on the beach in Tahunanui, Nelson, offering beach rentals, private and group SUP lessons, Paddleboard Yoga and Guided tours from qualified instructors. Guided Sea Kayak adventures to the historic Boulder Bank lighthouse and freedom kayak rentals from the beach. Warm waters, beautiful backdrop and the sunniest place in NZ make our little spot in paradise the perfect place to start your SUP journey or enjoy a relaxing sea kayak paddle with friends and family. Highly recommended great fun this is something you really have to try, really enjoy paddleboarding with my sister loads of fun and laughs, Owner is great and friendly.

Had such a great afternoon with Sam, I’m a total beginner at SUP and the lesson was exactly what I needed to feel confident enough to get out there and enjoy it. Needless to say I recon I’m hooked and can’t wait for the next opportunity to give it another go.

It was a beautiful day for a paddle on the Tasman Sea! Paddle Nelson was well situated and close to the beach. I loved my experience and would highly recommend it!

Held our 13th son’s birthday party with hiringThe Bug Tahuna paddle board. They had so much fun and would absolutely do this again w a group of people from all ages. Sam the Moana shop was aw some to deal with giving the kids great instruction which is not always easy with a group of boys! Thanks Moana

Super accommodating, good gear and friendly helpful service. We had a great jaunt around the bay and walk around Haulashore island for a couple of hours. Kayaks were easy to paddle. great gear. Would recommend as a fun family activity.

We ad an awesome day out on the water paddle boarding. Toby was great explained things perfectly for those of us who had not previously tried SUP. Would recommend this company

Awesome experience, we loved starting the day with a paddle on the water and had great calm conditions. Highly recommend this experience, we will certainly be doing it again. Friendly and easy going staff.

We rented a double kayak for a couple of hours and had a wonderful time exploring the bay and seeing Stingrays and enjoying the seabirds. The staff is helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our time so much, we scheduled a SUP lesson the next morning. Our instructor was patient, encouraging and very knowledgeable - made for an excellent first experience. We encountered unexpected morning winds and a bit of surf, but it made the lesson more challenging and fun. We really appreciate the instructors support and kindness. Great company.
