These gardens were my absolute favourite gardens we visited in Nelson (we went to 5 others), I almost decided to skip them because they were a bit out, but very very glad we didn't. My partner who is from Raglan (and has visited Hamilton Gardens...More

This property is a photographer's delight and a pleasant stroll through the vegetation of the major world continents. Many sculptures adorned the gardens especially in the water areas. A small honour system fee is paid at the entrance where washrooms are also located. At the...More

They make very little money, and it was set up to help orphans many decades ago. The colour of water is bizarre and a bit of a put-off, but I still love going there.

Lovely that you can just pay an honesty box donation. The gardens are nice but we were slightly put off by what appeared to be artifical colour in the water and streams - looked awful and don't know what the wildlife thought of it!

Georgous setting for a wedding. Wandered around the gardens and amazed to find a living prehistoric tree. Tranquil gardens.

A pleasant place to visit but it appears to be in the process of renovation. The toilet block is modern and clean. A new entrance way is being made. There are a wide variety of plants, well labelled. The blue dye in the water was...More

On a nice day this is a lovely place to take the family and have a picnic. Very well done and plenty of room to grab a spot and relax. There is a fee to get in but it is well worth it.

I attended a small wedding at these gardens and what a beautiful setting it was. There were birds singing in the trees and water running gently in the springs, making for a lovely day. These gardens are presented beautifully and have trees from all over...More

Our visit was over what turned out to be a rather wet weekend. It was grey and overcast with a threat of rain when we arrived. To our delight we were met by Tuis in the trees at the entry. This was enough for us...More

The owner's dog was there the day we visited. I didn't see any signs but would imagine that you would need to have your dog on a leash as there are ducks at the pond areas.
