Natureland is Nelson's zoo and wildlife conservation centre where you can get up close and personal to some unique New Zealand natives like Tuatara and Kea. Hang with the monkeys and get hands on with a range of interesting domestic animals. We are proud to be a community focused charitable trust so come on in and lets have a conservation conversation.

The Natureland Zoo is quite small, but good value for money. We spent a happy hour or so there, feeding the animals and enjoying the sunshine. The kids enjoyed feeding the animals. Don't expect this place to keep them occupied for too long, but not a bad spot to stop if you're looking to pass some time in Nelson.

Lovely lady on reception, but unless you have small children I'd give this one a miss - few animals and nothing unusual.

Visited this attraction a couple of afternoons ago. Cost of $N.Z.10 was quite cheap and indeed was great value for money. The Zoo was tidy, clean and the birds and animals have plenty of room. Clearly they are well cared for. Staff were courteous and knowledgeable. What really impressed as well though were the scenes painted or built in many... More

We visited with our 3 year old son and he loved feeding the animals with the very reasonably priced pellets($1 for a small bag). The visit was well worth the $25 we paid for the 3 of us.

A nice visit and the little monkeys were very cute BUT as we have a disabled son there was no Disability Parking spots which I did enquire about with staff who directed me to the Council and on enquiry to the Council they said there was disabled parking there but we had a good hunt for it but failed to... We love natureland. The staff are friendly and informed, the animals interesting (although often they're full and not interested in food) and the trampoline and sandpit allow parents a chance to sit and relax. A great experience.

We hadn't been here for around 15 years, so it was a very pleasant surprise to see all the growth here. The animals were great, many allowing to be fed or petted. Teenagers really enjoyed this.

This is a small but fun and interesting zoo, with animals that you can get close to. Lots of feeding times to fill a visit and the keepers are willing to talk about the animals and answer questions. Nice picnic area as well.

There seems to be a lot of work going into modernising Natureland, with a lot more diversity of animal exhibits being finished and built. There is the potential for something exciting. However, I do remember there being more animals to feed in the past, and less need for (sponsored) trampolines and sandpits to entertain the kids who are unable to... More
