We were surprised to see a wonderful market in Nelson. So many great things to purchase. Unfortunately, we were from out of town and I would have loved to buy all the beautiful fruit and veggies plus so many great crafts.

Always interesting and varied, arts, cosmetics, soaps, great food, plants, fresh fruit and veges, jams, sauces, relishes, candles, jewelry, clothing, etc etc, the list is endless. Even locals who go regularly will find something new and interesting every week. Great place to take out of town visitors, and feel proud of your local community. Highly recommended.

The fact that I couldn't even raise the enthusiasm to take a pic of the wilting produce in the "farmer's market's" here says a lot. Caution: the farmers selling stuff here sell only produce that has either turned or is unacceptable in other ways. Shopping for sloppy seconds abounds. I purchased fruit here that turned in 24 hours. Don't be... More

We've enjoyed strolling around in Nelson market on a sunny Saturday morning: Heeps of fresh food and whatever you seem to long for or you need, e.g. wonderful wood carvings.

Great market if you're a New Zealander but if you're Australian it is the same as the many we have. We did get some delicious blueberries and cherries there

We had heard this was a Nelson must-see and weren't disappointed. There was a good range of food on offer - seafood pies, whitebait fritters, local chocolate, gorgeous goats' cheese, fresh berries and lots of other offerings. If you like apple the Dutch apple cake is a must! There was also some lovely local art on display including Kemp Lenihan's... More

As we were visiting the Nelson area over the Christmas break we decided to visit this market on Saturday 24 December. Due to this busy time it was hard to find parking and there were crowds of people. Dare I say this but it was not as great as I had expected. The produce did not appear to be 'home... More

My wife and I came here on Christmas eve to buy cherries. We had plenty of options and enjoyed looking at the local clothing stalls and numerous food outlets. Cheese, chutneys, fruit, veg, pies and whitebait. There are plenty of choices. It would have been nice to have seen more arts and crafts, particularly as this is what Nelson is... More
