Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Cape Nelson State Park is close to Portland. Easy loop drive via Yellow Rock, Enchanted Forest and Pinnacles Lookout to Cape Nelson Lighthouse and return via Cape Nelson Rd. Can also stop off for the Sea Cliff Nature Walk which was average and seemed longer than the estimated 3km return!

This place is so nostalgic and the walk trail behind is just surreal and magic. You walk down in a remote secluded place where the ocean is in your left and green rocky hill in your right. There’s some educational tour for the lighthouse, you need to call to book in. Air is so refreshing and the experience is beautiful.

An area of outstanding beauty. Walk along the coastal path and look out for the sea life. We saw lots of seals oh and a snake. So watch where you put your feet. Great wild scenery.

Ive been visiting this lovely part of australia since I was a kid and I still find it spectacular every time I visit. This part of Victoria is a bit overshadowed by great ocean rd and Warrnambool/port fairy. shame because its lovely.

There are scenic drives around the coast with the massive windtowers right beside the road. The seascapes here are dramatic and beautiful and the Cape Nelson Lighthouse is a lovely working light station. Ther is rugged scenery and at times the winds can be cold and very cutting. The park is part of the Great South West Walk with coastal walking trails and impressive lookouts. Well worth a visit even if you don't have the desire to walk the GSWW's 250kms of coastal and heathland.

Stunning vistas. Many short walks to lookouts from the road, to view this spectacular and rugged coastline. Beware of wildlife on the roads and walkers and bikeriders also are enjoying the views.

A great place to visit and take walking trails. The coastline is rugged but beautiful. There is some great accommodation at the lighthouse and the lighthouse itself very interesting to see. Good walking shoes and water a must. If driving at night be aware there is a lot of Wallabies on and around the road if taking the coastal scenic route, much safer at night on the Cape Nelson Road.
