Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

So many times we have driven past and walked past and just didn't know, well know we do and I hope you visit as well. Being a Veteran I just loved it, so many memories flooded back of my time in the Navy serving this wonderful country. We both really enjoyed this visit, plenty to see and great views from the top, 125 stairs and worth it for the views of the coast and Portland. The set up is excellent and we were happy to pay to visit and gave a good donation. Thank you to those who served before me.

This lookout is about a 50 metre walk from the Portland Cable Tram turn point and you can enjoy it while the tram waits to return. The day was dark, stormy and overcast, perfect weather for a spectacular view of the harbour and the coast line. Very photogenic and great views.

Here it is !! Not only a water tower converted WW II museum, but also a fantastic watch out point next to the tower...

The museum has a lot of historical pictures, news and things re WW II... Good to know the WW II history and Aussie related... When climbing to the top, you will enjoy the 360 degrees view of Portland the the great ocean....

Had my watch still set on SA time & couldn't work out why the Tower was closed ? Missed going in & up but looked good for a small entrance price. The old water tower is now a War Memorial dedicated to WW 2 and would give a great view of the district. The lookout in front gives a good view as well.

Some interesting items on display. For a fee you can also climb to the top for some nice views. The tram ticket allows entrance to the museum, just not to the top. Converted from an old water tower.
