    Interesting exhibits
Aligned with the Visitors Centre - itself a modern space with helpful staff and an associated cafe, the outback exhibit is informative and well worth a visit. It is quite expensive, even with the Seniors Discount that is on offer. Provides a good background to the region and its history.

Port Augusta history - recommended biewing
Well worth a look. The centre is an interactive history of the Port Augusta area. I was really impressed with the layout and enjoyed reading, looking and listening about the history of the area. Need around 2 hours+ to fully explore the display. It does cost to go in but I feel this is good value for money.

    Understanding South Australia’s back yard
A real learning experience from arid gardens to Australia formation millions of years ago. Port Augusta is busy city with much history. Easy to spend a couple of days in the area.

Would have been the best informative / interactive tour / information center we have been too. Lady at the desk couldn’t have been more helpful. The displays are amazing.
10 Star rating.

The time tunnel interpretive centre surprised us with the quality of the detail provided We ended up spending more time than we might have predicted. Unfortunately, some aspects of the display are out of date by reference to the, now closed Leigh Creek coal mine.

The highlight for me was the geography film as you walk in the door. I am a teacher and would love to show this to my class as the way it explains how the continents separated and formed the continents we live in.

The Wadlata Outback Centre is impressive in the variety and quantity of information on offer.
For me to move from a “very good” to “excellent” rating, would be to see their videos captioned to enable their accessibility to a wider audience.
It was great to know that the entry ticket enabled you for a pass out and to return within 12 months. We certainly could have spent more time there given the amount of content to get through - but we were just passing through.

Although interesting. We expected a lot more on Mathew Flinders and more on the pioneering families and establishment civilization of Sth Aust.
