We opted for the cheapest tour offered by Fraser experience and we were not disappointed. We were in a group of 14 other passengers so it didn’t feel impersonal. Our tour guide - Sid - was exceptionally knowledgable about the island and could therefore tailor the day’s itinerary based on the weather patterns and subsequently how long it would take to get to different checkpoints. We had a tea and biscuit stop at Central Station and there was plenty to go around everyone. This was followed by a good picnic lunch at Lake McKenzie and there were snacks and cold drinks available throughout the day so we were all well looked after. On the way back to the ferry our bus unfortunately broke down. Although an inconvenience as it delayed our journey, it is important to respect that it was NOT the company’s fault as the terrain on the island can be pretty unforgiving and the way the situation was dealt with was good - if anything it made it more of an adventure and we will never forget it!
We were initially unsure if we should pay the money to visit the Island but after having such a fantastic day we couldn’t recommend it enough! Thanks again to Sid.

I’m often a bit sceptical when reading the blurbs on tour websites as they often over promise and under deliver but I’m really happy to say that our 1 Day Fantastic Fraser Island Tour was 100% as promised. Wife and I were collected at our accommodation at exactly the time booked by our guide for the day (Brooke) and in the company of 2 other guests enjoyed a great day on F/I exploring all the sights and sound of this enormous sand island. All the promised sights were included and we never ever felt hurried or rushed and in fact managed to squeeze in 2 unexpected stops along the way. Obvious highlights included Lake Mackenzie / Eli Creek and The Maheno Shipwreck were well enjoyed. Supplied meals (morning tea / lunch and afternoon tea) were simple but more than adequate and the icy cold Crown lager certainly hit the spot.
Highly recommended
Special mention and thanks to Brooke – her entire focus on the day were her 4 guests and ensuring we had a great day. She has an almost encyclopaedic knowledge of F/I and could answer any question or request thrown at her. If you do book this tours and get to share it with Brooke you are in for a great day

Amazing company to discover Fraser Island! We would strongly advise to pay a little extra to take the smaller (6 or 4 person) group tour, this gives so much more time at the highlights instead of in the car (jeeps go very fast) freedom of small groups, intimacy and a very cool driving experience in these jeeps (instead of a bus)
Our guide Les was just out of this world. He had so much knowledge on the island, amazing humor, good stories, is eco certified and his 4x4 driving skills made us feel very safe whilst going fast!

This tour was overpriced for a one day experience. Eleven hour day, picked up at 7.45am and dropped off at approx. 6.30pm. Time spent on the island 8 hours, 7 hours spent in the vehicle due to being bogged at least 4-5 times, our guide had to rely on other drivers to get us out. Hence, each attraction time limit was shortened. Two of the attractions we were given 5 minutes! We voiced our concern to the driver/guide and thought we would get a call from the company but it seemed nothing was said. Very disappointing that to be charged $220 per person for the day and to be left feeling completely ripped off. The only highlight was lake McKenzie we got 30 minutes which would of been longer if we were not bogged for 40 minutes, 5 minutes into the trip. Even at the end of the day the barge had to wait for our vehicle as we were told it leaves at 5pm we got there at 5.30pm. The other people on the tour were not happy either.

My wife and I booked a Hummer Tour Day Trip. Helen our tour guide and driver was very knowledgeable and was able to keep the entire trip interesting with many stories about the island and the history. Main places we visited were Eli Creek, ship wreck, Central Station and our personal highlight, Lake Mackenzie. Included were all meals, Tea or Coffee in the morning and a great lunch.
I did the same tour a few years back using a bus, which was already fun, but if you want to have a more personal experience, the Hummer Tour is the way to go. We even got picked up at the house we rented in Hervey Bay, which is not a typical pick up spot.
Overall, great tour and great service.

After doing some tours with over 40 people we decided to spent a little more money and do the Hummer tour with max of 4 people. And we didn't regret it. Even though the weather was not that great, we enjoyed having the sights like Eli Creek, Central Station or the Maheno shipwreck almost to our ourselves before the crowds were coming. Less knows Fraser very well and have a lot of stories to tell. Thanks a lot for a great day!

Not happy Jan! The vehicle was not up to this trip. There seemed to be problems with the A/C and something to do with the electrics of the engine. It meant the vehicle Laboured often not able to get up to speed. The guide suggested on a number of occasions we may need to push the vehicle ( not by me!) and that he was worried about running out of petrol. All this made us apprehensive. A broken window before we began caused issues and eventually exploded into the vehicle. While the driver did his best to clean up the passengers became agitated as it was getting late and discussion became heated between two people . Frasier Island is beautiful but don’t bother with this company.

Hi
Sorry to hear that your trip did not meet your expectations.
Fraser Island is a rugged and beautiful place and can be aggressive on vehicles operating there and problems can occur form time to time.
It was unfortunate that a broken window did occur, however the driver was able to secure the window and complete the trip and not miss any of the itinerary.

It's not cheap, that's true. But it is REALLY WORTH IT! We had the best time on Fraser Island. It exceeded our expectations in all senses. First, we had Ranger Les as our tour guide. Les was simply the best tour guide we have ever had! He is a great person, full of stories, experienced driver, friendly, and he knows a lot about Fraser Island, Queensland, and Australia. We couldn't have selected a better guide!
The tour is tailored to the group's wishes. So we can spend more time in the places that interest us the most: we spent, for example, over 2 hours at Lake McKenzie. This was a great experience!

What a great tour with an amazing driver and guide! Les was an extremely experienced driver and easily navigated the bumpy roads... we felt like we had the island to ourselves. He is a wonderful storyteller with a great sense of humor and tons of knowledge about the island! Food was excellent, beer and wine at lunch and the chocolate, strawberries and champagne snack was a lovely surprise. We visited Eli Creek, Lake McKenzie, SS Maheno shipwreck and we got to hike through the rainforest. Driving along the beach "highway" was a really neat experience. We saw a dingo, coloured sands, and Les even went out of his way after our tour to show us some kangaroos! There was a lot of flexibility (4 of us passengers in the Hummer) and this tour was one of the highlights of our trip to Australia. Would definitely recommend asking for Les as your guide... thank you Les!

A mate and I negotiated a special rate for the two of us as minimum tour numbers did not eventuate, for the one day Experience Tour. The slightly increased cost from $265 each was well worth the extra money. Sid, our driver/host regaled us with the history of the island, and described the various fauna, dune formations and tree varieties as we traversed the island and the beach.
Ample and good food and beverages were provided, with adequate time to swim in Kake McIntyre had we wished to.
A World Heritage site not to be missed when visiting the area

Hello! We have booked a 2 day 1 night trip, is it possible to bring our suitcases? If not, where can we keep them?

Hi Iria
For overnight tours to Fraser Island it is suggested to bring a small overnight bag. I am not sure which company you booked your tour with, but most will offer storage for your bigger bags.
