The most amazing views. A place to leave the worries of the world behind. A stunning walk overlooking the ocean, seal colony, mountains. A place of natural beauty lovingly preserved by caring friendly New Zealand folk to honour Gods glory.

Still a few seals around but much has changed since the earthquake. There is a big rock platform where the rock pools used to be. Amazing difference

We did the Kaikoura Kayaking experience the day before and saw the fur seals from the water but walking out on the Peninsula is an easy way to view the Fur seals from the land much closer. Obviously - you have to avoid getting too...More

What an awesome walk from the southern end over to the Peninsula, lots to see, plenty of photo spots. Heaps of seals sighted. Could have stayed there all day, highly recommend the walk.

A lovely walk to do - great views over the coastline and it’s nice to leave the bustle of the town for a few hours. Give yourself a few hours for photos and stopping to admire the scenery!

Wow what a gorgeous walk! Took us about 2.5 hours from the town centre, amazing views and a lot of work has gone into the walkway itself. Definitely recommend.

Easy walk in stunning landscape! You can see the full peninsula, the seal colonies, ocean and mountain views- everything during a short walk in a very nicely done track.

We loved this walk! Amazing coastal scenery and views over the pretty town of Kaikoura with stunning mountain backdrop. The highlight though was definitely the opportunity to get close the the many seals resting on the beach and rock ledges. And even better, this attraction...More

A very beautiful and scenic drive to the car park, short walk along the rocks and you come face to face with the fur seals basking in the sunshine. If you wish there is a path to a viewpoint on the top of the cliff...More

With young kids and the inclement weather, whale watching was out. We decided to do the peninsula walk. Everyone enjoyed the 3 hour walk - including my 5 year old. Great views, seal sighting and birds galore on the path. Lovely and highly recommended.

Not sure about Ohau walkway, but quite possible after the earthquake. The place I started on the walkway was at the Port Kean viewpoint (there's a car park near there to drive up to so you can start the walk). I heard the... More

Hi, I think at this moment you cannot drive the coast road from Blendheim to Kaikoura. You need to drive inside the south Island and drive back to Kaikoura. The walk is free. It take about 3h, depend how far you walk... More
