Great if you love trees and birds. Just ignore the miserable staff.

Loved the walk through the top of the trees and spotting the birds. Expensive so book online through bookme.com to get a great discount. Disappointed with customer service though. Nobody smiled. The staff looked miserable. Not the usual kiwi welcome you expect for tourists. I feel you let the side down. We bought coffee to go and was charged $4.90... More

We really enjoyed the Treetop Walk, great views - especially from the tower looking over to the Southern Alps. Lovely peaceful (there was only one other small group when we went mid morning) way to see all the native trees and birds.

We went on a sunny day as they opened and had the place to ourselves - well apart from the natural inhabitants. We saw some birds - not as many as we had thought- but it didn't matter as the forest was so interesting and the views stunning. The kids ( 8-11yrs) really enjoyed it although it was hard keeping... What a beautiful way to see a our native forest and Lake Mahinapua. Two of our group were scared of heights, but the design of the walk put their minds at rest, even out on the cantilever area and up the tower! Being able to look down on the magnificent tree ferns was awesome, such great photos. Taking your time... More

We were lucky to get a beautiful sunny Autumn day so it was fabulous walking through the top of the trees and listening to the birds and taking in the views of the mountains and nearby lake. We bought a discount voucher off the website bookme.co.nz which saved us $12 per person. I don't think we would have paid the... More

The treetop walk was recommended to us and we opted to try it. It is well worth the price of admission. Well-engineered, nice interpretive stuff, and easy to find from the highway.

I loved the idea of walking amongst the trees but was slightly disappointed. For the price that we payed I thought the walk would be longer and I thought we would be much closer to the trees. The walk provides some beautiful views of the mountains and Lake Mahinipua! The ladies were lovely who served us but the cafe staff... More

Let's be honest here my people, we did not actually do the walk as the price was enough to send us straight on by to the Hokitika Gorge. With so many public walks around, this could not be justified in our eyes. Cute looking tree house though.

Despite pouring rain the walk brought home the beauty of the forest. The scope and magnitude of the walk and associated forest is very special.
