We are on a tour of New Zealand and our travel guide brought us here. We had a wonderful demonstration by Anne, showing us how to use New Zealand Flax as weaving. Her art is unique and beautiful. We ended up buying a green stone necklace. The woman was very helpful and the green stone was, to me, more beautiful... More

How nice to come upon this lovely shop and discover it's a co-op representing a number of very talented local artists. We had been searching for such a fine crafts shop during our trip through New Zealand, and lo and behold, we finally found it.......we enjoyed looking at everything so nicely displayed and bought several pieces to being home and... After a trawl of the many places selling crafts this proved to be areal gem. The local artists have formed an interesting gallery; there are examples of painting, textiles, wood working, etc. The charming Andrew was a wealth of information and not the least pushy - so !Uch so that we bought two items,! The prices are very reasonable for... More

A very nice craft coop worth a stop even if you are not shopping. Merchandise well displayed and sales person was warm and friendly and not at all pushy. Well worth a stop even if you are only eye shopping. Recommend. Hope this helps.

It's nice to see a 'gallery' in such a small town, and there was a decent amount of local artists' work for sale. Nice to seem some well made native wood platters - always love those, but also plenty of things for the tchotcke lover

We went to Hokitika for a rest stop and found this lovely store that had crafts made by New Zealanders. Large selection of various crafts, with a wide range of prices. The individual at the store was one of the artists and he recommended places to eat in town and along the way. Super friendly. Worth the stop.

This was an unexpected find on a late Saturday afternoon when many other shops were closed. Some beautiful pieces including some amazing wood turned pieces. It was great talking to the man who had made them and he was so helpful in shipping our purchase. Visit, you won't be disappointed.
