We love this walk as a place to appreciate nature and see the streams and trees native to this area. There is also a local swimming hole accessed from this trail system. The trail hooks up to a walk connecting Whangarei Falls as well. Nice...More

We loved this park, which borders Whangarei Falls and has trails leading to it. Trails are well maintained and many are on boardwalks. The kauri aren't as prevalent as I would have expected, but those that are there are interesting to see as the wood...More

A lovely canopy walk through native trees including some big Kauri's. Walked up lots of steps to see the waterfall but as it had not rained much for the last month there was not much water pouring down the falls. It was hot so nice...More

We did this part of the trek from Town basin to the Whangarei Falls. Beautiful section of the trail here with a nice tree top walk.

Great to see kauri on the broad walk...wonderful specimens . ..the trek up to the Mackinnon Falls up a 160 steps is a bit of a mission when all you see is a dribble in the summer season..probably best in spring.

This walk through native bush is an easy reasonably flat walk that even the unfit walker can try. If you want to prolong your experience you can carry on following the track to the bottom of Whangarei Falls. This track is pretty flat all the...More
