We just completed 3 nights stay at Bream Coasts Lodge..we loved the concept of a private lodge with walks on both public but also through some private farms that had acquired the approval of the occupants. Claire is a very accommodating host and puts a tremendous amount of work into making the Lodge successful. She supplies a daily amount of... More

What a place! My two kids and I arrived from Canada not entirely sure what to expect. We had the 6-person bunk room with an outdoor shower. We didn't try the outdoor bath because ours wasn't a romantic get away. The place was simple, spotlessly clean and well maintained. I didn't read the instructions, men don't do that, and didn't... We stayed 3 nights at a gorgeous remote lodge away from it all. Very excellent briefings and directions for day walks by our host Claire : also lots of options The walks were magnificant : scenery changing every day from coastal to hills etc. The lodge had all comfort and the meals Claire supplied for delicious and generous full of... Good things in life can still be free. We often go there for the stunning views, clear water, great surf and never a big crowd to cut into your day. Sandy beaches mixed with rocky outcrops, steep hills and endless foto occasions. Some really nice camp grounds and Cafe's around or stop for a cold one at Parua Bay Tavern... More

The walk taking you up to the highest point on Bream Headis strenuous and a mixture of walking and climbing with a rocky scramble at the top. Unfortunately it was in cloud the day we climbed up so we couldn't see "one of the best views on North Island"

This was tramping with luxury accommodation - far from the usual DOC huts in NZ! The walks were all wonderful and very well signposted. The pohutukawa were out and we had so many stunning views of beaches, mountains, forests and islands. I would highly recommend this walk. Claire was a wonderful host, providing shuttles whenever required and providing really good... More

This was a great place for our group of upper middle aged folk to have a three day break exploring a corner of New Zealand we would not normally visit, with a fantastic lodge, food and walks. Claire was very welcoming and provided us with a very warm welcome, all the information we needed, and generous and beautiful meals. We... More

We booked the 3 night option at Bream Head Coast Walks Lodge with a different walk each day. The walks range from easy to advanced with options for each walk. You experience the beauty of Whangarei Heads from unspoilt Ocean Beach to dense bush, hills and farmland. The Te Whara track we walked on the 2nd day was by far... More

This an attractive beach with several walkways all well formed. Lots of sand dunes for play. I was impressed with notices that told people to take their rubbish home. Sadly from observing the road sides some chucked it out as they left the area.
