As others have said, this is a temporary venue (but it has been a few years now). The gallery itself is small but had interesting stuff, but the shop is great - full of lovely things which aren't in all the other gift shops. We...More

The original building is currently under going rennovations to comply with updated earthquake building codes. Unfortunately, this leaves only a tiny portion of the museum's collection on view at the quayside location. Hugely disappointed. Anticipated reopening 2019?

Easy to find a park, fantastic gift shop, lovely staff. Plenty of other studios and gift shops very close by so you can see heaps of them very easily.

Love visiting the gallery when I'm visiting. Sometimes I don't care for the exhibitions, but I love the gift shop! They have gorgeous hand-crafted pieces for sale!

When we were there, there were some nice exhibits but the experience cannot help being a disappointment to anyone who knows the Sarjeant Gallery's normal home - which is an architectural gem with a wonderful collection.

Sergeant is a museum-gallery right in the middle of town, close to i-site and everything. Mainly modern art, lots of local art.
