Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The road in was dirt, bumpy, dusty and rough. However it was not too far and well worth the effort. We only walked a short distance along the track towards the beach along the way as it was a hot day. However the view was amazing of wild and windswept waves crashing over the rocks. Picture post card brilliant!

We enjoyed numerous explorations along this part of the WA coastline. There was the after-effect of recent bushfires, however it was also reassuring to see there is new growth happening. The water was clear, sparkling and refreshing. The beach seems clean and well maintained.

Stopped off on a day trip between Dunsborough and Augusta to have a picnic under the peppermint trees. What a beautiful campsite! There are now sites with fire places, long drop toilets, limestone parking for vans and shady tree lined areas for tents. We used to camp here back in the mid-late 1980's and it is like chalk and cheese. What a lovely campground it has become!

Decided to have a look at Conto Beach but have to say that a rainy day is not the best to admire the views. Nevertheless we carried on and discovered other attractions previously unknown to us. Easy drive from Caves Road, the National Park surrounding us. The camping area near Conto Springs Beach is located on a site that looks protected by peppermint trees. We had a quick look at Boranup South Beach from the warmth of the car, I wasn't foolhardy enough to brave the rain. We enjoyed a period of dry weather, although still overcast and windy, when we stopped at Cape Freycinet and the memorial to Henri Desaules and Louis de Freycinet who visited the area in 1801 on the Baudin. Tried to locate the freshwater flow at Conto Springs but again thwarted by rain. Interesting rock structure on the hill overlooking the area. Stopped at Merchant Rock - refer separate review -, and finally to Round Rock where we were able to park and enjoy the scene for approx. 10 minutes. Brave photographer squatting on the rock camera in hand, possibly recording the mountainous seas breaking over the rocks. He was certainly braver than I was, too close to the water for my comfort. Easy accessible by 2WD but if you want to venture further from the gravel, its 4WD or walk.

Contos' is in Leeuwin Naturaliste National Park with three grouped areas all with toilet facilities, table and seats and fire pit (check fire season). Also on the the Leeuwin Park is Boranup camp ground a lot more secluded and smaller great for camping in the forest. We chose to stay at Contos a bit more expensive at $15 per person, but very relaxing.... except for the kookaburra.

After checking-out from The Sebel Busselton, we had our breakfast at The Urban Coffee House, before continuing our family's road trip in Margaret River Region.

We came to know that there's a good place that we should stop and enjoy the peaceful & quiet ambience. That is the Conto Springs, facing right towards Indian Ocean.

Our family enjoyed to be at this spot.
