Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Take the drive from the very south at Hamelin Bay and go through to Dunsborough. Stop wherever the opportunity is. Deer Farm. Wineries. Beaches. Caves. Up to you but take this road rather than the highway and take in the forests and the side diversions.

A great road to explore the coast and wonderful scenery of the area. We enjoyed the windy drive and most of it is at 80 kph. Heading from Dunsborough to Augusta was a great trip - so much better than the highway driving we did on our return journey. Lots of wineries, beautiful beaches and wild coastline to explore down the various roads that come off Cave's Road.

Linking Dunsborough to Augusta, Caves Road is a scenic drive through the National Park. The road is mostly 80kmh and winds its way past numerous vineyards and cellar doors. You are never to far from the coast and there are plenty of good walking tracks in the area, which enables you to see and try sections of the Cape to Cape Track. Don’t forget to visit some of the caves.

Easy drive. Be prepared for a slow drive due to so many tourists using the road. Links sooooooo many wineries and restaurants

Drove several parts of the road, in the southern end (to get to Jewel Cave), near Margaret River (to get to the Lake Cave and Mammoth Cave), and then in the northern end (to visit wineries and get to Ngilgi Cave). It's a rather windy road that cuts through swathes of the Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park, with access to a lot of the caves and turnouts to scenic views of the ocean

caves road travels from Augusta to past Dunsborough. You can turn off at several places along the road to see limestone caves, wineries different hamelets such as margaret river, prevally etc. as well as cape leeuwin naturaliste national parks. For this reason it suits a diverse set of travellers from budget minded to families as there are activities to suit all along the way. It is easy to see why it is a popular destination for the people of perth.

We have done Caves road a few times and it never gets old.The scenery changes from season to season and around every corner. It shows the south west scenery at its best from forrests to rolling paddocks and cave stops along the way.A bit of a drive towing a caravan but most definately the best scenic drive

This is not the road to take if you are in a hurry. A slow moving vehicle or caravan may make you go slowly insane. However, if you are happy to drive through pristine forests, wineries and farmland and to do a 'spotto' on the kangaroos and other wildlife (including the deer at the deer farm), it is a thoroughly enjoyable drive!

Nice drive from Dunsborough to Margaret River and then to Hamelin Bay and onto Augusta. Very little flora in bloom for the time of year but prodigious growth resulting from the recent rains. So much lovely vegetation, tall trees and undergrowth, it seemed that every shade of green was represented. The heavy rain couldn't dampen the beauty of the area.
