The estate is beautiful and is well worth a visit. However, each taste costs, at least, $3 for a tiny little bit. Probably works out at about $24 were you to have a 120ml glass. I have no problem with wineries charging for a flight of wines. They need to keep the freeloaders at bay I guess but these guys are gouging. There are so many other wineries in the area, with wines that are as good as or better than these, who let you taste in the spirit of wine tasting, ie, try our wines and if you like you might buy. Not the case at Voyager.

Dear Nobbo,
Thank you for your honest feedback. I am disappointed to hear that you don't see value in the tasting experience we offer, especially as it is indeed free should you make a wine purchase afterwards. We aim to provide a highly professional and educational wine tasting for those who seek it, either seated for those who want the time and space, or standing at the counter for a more relaxed approach. The fee is the same for both, charged per wine or by the flight of 3, and complimentary with a wine purchase. The tasting fees allow us to make available wines from our project and museum wine collections in particular, a real reward for visiting the winery in person.
With a broad range of wine varieties and styles available, we are confident that the team can help almost anyone find a wine they will enjoy and want to buy. As such we find we are rarely charging tasting fees.
I hope we have another opportunity to show you our wines in the future.
Kind regards,
Adam Elton

This was our first visit to the Margaret River area and the first trip of the holiday was to Voyager Estate, a great start!
The grounds and the buildings look great and are very well maintained, give a great impression as soon as you arrive.
We had booked for the Origins wine tasting session followed by a 4 course lunch. The team member who took our tasting session (apologies as I forgot your name) was extremely knowledgeable and gave us a great overview of each wine, as well as the overall process and Voyager's background.
We then moved to the dining room for lunch, the room is stunning with a lovely view over the gardens. Every course was amazingly presented and delicious. The staff had also noted my wife doesn't eat seafood and a well thought out replacement was served where required.
Dining room service was also excellent with again a good overview of each wine given as we started each course, with a couple of extra tastings thrown in as well!
To round off the day you also receive a discounted rate for any wines your purchase so we had to take a few bottles with us.
Well worth a visit if you are in the area.

We booked this tour ahead of our visit and were happy we did. The grounds of this winery are beautiful and it was a pleasure to engage in a walking tour with a personable guide who was knowledgeable and entertaining. We would have liked some more information on the process of the wine-making but enjoyed it nonetheless. We finished with a tasting which felt a little rushed. Had a quick look at the restaurant and it was beautiful. Wandered around the grounds and particularly enjoyed the rose gardens. This winery is worth a visit for the grounds alone - don't miss it!

Thank you TopEndFamily1 for your review and feedback.
There is certainly hours and hours of information we could try and cover in the course of our Walking Estate Tour and Tasting, but we've opted to try and keep it to just an hour and a half to fit best with most peoples travel itinerary. I'm sorry if this felt a bit rushed, but glad that you felt the guide was personable, knowledgeable and entertaining.
All the best.

The grounds and the main building were just stunning. The gardens and lawns were simply immaculate. Beautiful tasting room as well equipped with private tasting booths as well. The wines were fabulous and I ordered up big. Even received a complimentary premium bottle of red after the order. The restaurant is meant to be very nice but we didn't get a chance to eat there this year. Definitely a must visit winery.

Margaret River is in the extreme south-west of the Australian continent. The summers are mild, and the winters are crisp. The wintersclimate is influenced by the storms that rage in the Southern Ocean. The maritime climate resembles France's Bordeaux region. The Voyager Estate is traditionally famous for its classic white Chardonnay and its definitive red Cabernet Sauvignon, although the rich Shiraz is now recognized as a prime expression of this red variety. Margaret River is a farming region, and fresh local produce matched with the Voyager Estate's classic wines combine to make a memorable meal.

We had a wonderful morning going around the vineyard learning about rhe wine growing, gardens and cellars followed by some winetasting. Our guide was Scarlet who was very knowledgeable and made it a lovely experience. We enjoyed the wines we tasted and bought some to take back to England.

Voyager Estate is a picturesque establishment, built in Cape Dutch style. It is one of the oldest wineries in the Margaret River region, in the extreme south-west of Western Australia, which has a maritime clmate suited to classic grapr varieties such as Chenin Blanc and Chardonnay. Voyager Estate is on track to be fully organic.

This was our first visit to Voyager Estate and the winery is definitely worth a visit. The grounds are remarkable especially with the Giant Australian Flag, greeting you as you ever.
It's not just the winery and restaurant that you want to visit here for, as the grounds are supurb and steeped in history.
This is well worth a visit.

Unfortunately, we only had time to pop in briefly as we had a tight schedule.
The gardens are absolutely beautiful with different areas which are kept immaculate and pristine ie the rose garden, vegetable garden, fountains, pools etc. The main building is lovely too.
We were reminded of Italian properties and the gardens had an Italian feel to them too.
If you’re in the area, definitely go!

Dear madowninguk,
Thank you for your review and kind words about the gardens and architecture. They are in fact Cape Dutch style, inspired by the beautiful Cape Town, Stellenbosch areas of South Africa. Our two regions share maritime and viticultural history, information on which we have displayed within our Cellar Door.
However, if you think the gardens are good, you should try our wines! What a shame you were on such a tight schedule, if hope you have an opportunity to make a future visit for one of our wine and food experiences.
Kind regards,
Adam Elton

Truly astounding buildings and gardens. Staff full of experience and knowledge. Tasting a bit expensive but it is a good looking place. Renowned for Chardonnay and Cabernet. Well worth a visit.

Thank you TrevorTips for the magnificent review!
Wonderful to hear you enjoyed your visit and interaction with our highly trained, personable and professional staff. Our tasting fees allow us to maintain the extensive range of wines available for tasting, including museum releases, and its important to note that the fee is waived if a wine purchase is made.
Really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience and feedback. All the best in your travels.

Hello Voyager Estate,
I’m planning my trip and wonder if there is any cellar door walk-in wine tasting available? As it mentions tasting starts from $10.
Or I need to book the origins tasting experience?
Cheers,
Jacky

HI, would like to travel with my family ( adults, kids range 11-14, and a toddler). Understand that wine testing and vineyard visiting tour is only for adult, may I know is there any place for children to rest and play while waiting for adults to complete the tour??
Written 27 March 2019
Hello Wonghanye,
Thank you for your inquiry.
We actually accommodate children on our Walking Estate Tour and Tasting which is conducted at 3pm each Wednesday and Friday. It's 90 minutes in duration and covers all the same content of our morning Estate Tour. If dining in our Restaurant prior we advise an early lunch reservation to ensure you are ready for the tour to begin at 3pm. Please visit our website for more information or to book.
While we do not have a playground our extensive gardens and lawns are often enjoyed by parents and children. If the weather is fine we will have some picnic blankets and lawn games available for visitors to use.
We hope to see you at Voyager Estate soon.
Kind regards,
Adam Elton

Do you provide accomodation on the wineyard? Or which hotel do you recomend? Are there taxis available, if I don't want to drive after the wine tasting any more? Thank's

Hello Martina,
We don't have accommodation but we are only 6km from Margaret River town. There is a range of accommodation choices, from backpackers to 4 star self catered apartments so I would suggest you visit the Margaret River tourism website margaretriver(.)com to see what suits you for price and location.
As for taxi;s, here are some options.
Taz's Taxis: (08) 9757 5178
Kel's Designated Drivers: 0429 272 309
Explore Margaret River Region Taxis: 0439 161 250
I hope this is helpful, and we look forward to seeing you at Voyager Estate.
Kind regards
Janine

Hi Chloe, I'm the cellar door manager, so I can I confirm that we welcome kids but we don't have a playground. In saying that, most are happy to run around on the lawn. We have non alcoholic grape juice so they can have a 'tasting' of those. We do have a kids degustation menu but depending on their age, it can be hard to keep their attention for a 2+ hour meal. Unfortunately, our tour vehicle is not equipped with kids seats and we don't feel it is appropriate locations and content for children, so we have a 16+ age on our tour. I hope this is helpful.
Kind regards,
Janine

Hello! Can you visit the estate and the vineyard on your own without a tour? I am planning to got to Margaret River for a weekened but won't make it by 11 am, so I was hoping to go in for some wine tasting and the views. Is that possible?
Thanks!

Hi yes very easy to locate and a big car park. It is a one directional for driving. Come in from up the drive. Great place to visit and walk around the rose gardens. Enjoy

Any idea if the estate tour includes a tour of the cellar, winemaking process? Or does it simply take us on a tour around the estate?
Written 1 September 2015
Hello
Our Estate Tour visits the vineyards, where there is opportunity to walk into the vines. It also goes to our winery where we invite you to try a sample of wine from barrel, and finally a visit to our underground cellar where we store our finished wine that is ready for market. There is a wine tasting back in our Cellar Door, and you can choose to stay on for lunch (highly recommended!). At all stages, we talk about the viticulture and winemaking processes.
Please let me know if you have any other questions and you can book online on our website with instant confirmation.
Kind regards
