Fantastic afternoon doing something different
Jun. 2021 • Family
My teenage daughter and I sometimes find it hard to find fun things to do that we both enjoy, but this hit the mark for us. Neither of us had any experience horse riding but we both really enjoyed the experience. Visiting the beautiful property was half the fun. We saw kangaroos and lots of beautiful bush land. There was a big campfire and an outside room with an open fire and piano and guitar for relaxing in before/after the ride. It was a really cool place and the horses looked happy and seemed well behaved. We really had a great time

Cannot wait for next year already!

We recently experienced the "Rosabrook Retreat" at Jesters flat for a girls weekend away.
I cannot express how much fun this weekend was! From the cosy glamping tents so beautifully decked out, the roaring log fire that burned all weekend, the amazing locally sourced food cooked by Alex, the beautiful cottage where we chatted over cups of tea & red wine, the incredible scenery & especially the great company & hosting of Paul, Fiona & crew.
Special mention to our beautiful horses who carried us through some pretty torrential rainfall without a step wrong. All the horses are so well cared for & great temperaments.
We loved this weekend SO much and cannot wait for next year already! x

Do yourself a favour and book in for the Rosabrook Retreat. It is good for the soul.

From the moment we arrived until the day we packed up we had the most incredible time.
Hosts Paul and Fiona go out of their way to ensure everything is taken care of. From the comfy beds in the glamping tents, the gourmet food cooked by Alex and the most beautiful horses you could ever imagine.
The fire pit was a draw card as was the ambience of the cottage. The kookaburras laughing us awake and the red wine, grown on the vineyard putting us to sleep.
I can't wait until next year.

This trip was the most wonderful experience. Very comfortable beds in gorgeous Glamping tents with warm fairy lights sprinkled throughout the property. Jesters horses were very well behaved and the staff did everything to ensure our safety and comfort. I highly recommend this experience for a girls weekend away!!! Can’t wait for the next one. Thanks Paul and Fiona x

Everything about it was incredible ...

Oh my goodness, what a place! From the minute we arrived it was clear this was going to be a very special weekend in a beautiful setting with attention to detail. Accommodation in the most amazing tents with a fair bit of luxury, food cooked by the wonderful Alex, simple, fresh and full of taste. A welcoming living area, full kitchen, wonderful hosts in Fiona and Paul and experienced and caring instructors (particularly Mara and Breanna). If you have ever felt there is a horse-riding weekend within you, then I'd direct you here. Hugo the horse I was lucky enough to 'ride' and Jack the Kelpie were particular favourites of mine! Literally cannot wait to go back and learn some more.

Incredible place! It's rare as an experienced rider to find a place where the horses are in such good condition, and the ride was so fun! Beautiful setting, can't wait to come back. Thank you so much Jesters flat team.

Perfection
Apr. 2021 • Family
Our 3rd time riding out at Jesters and not disappointed. We were too late to book onto one of the more advanced rides so did the only available beginners bush ride. From beginning to end it was a great experience. Fiona sorted us out with well fitting boots and helmets. The horses look happy and healthy and are well mannered and willing. The girls are helpful and thorough in explaining the basics or riding and safety briefing. Caitlin was in charge of our trek and obviously very experienced and good at her job. We were all matched with a horse that suited our riding ability. Easy to mount with help of a block and then we were all assisted to adjust our stirrups and get comfortable in the saddle.
The next hour took us on a relaxing yet invigorating walking pace ride through stunning bush land. I don’t know how you could fail to enjoy this experience. If you wanted a more adventurous ride there are other options beyond the beginners bushride but book early as these are popular.
Must do experience when in the area and well priced. Missed the hot bread and wine at the end but expect covid has put pay to this ‘extra’ for the time being.
Will be back. Thanks again for the highlight of our week.

A very boring, slow, but pretty walk
Apr. 2021
As a special treat we signed up to the twilight ride suitable for beginners to advanced. From the fact that this caters up to advanced, this led us to believe this would be a pretty interesting ride suited to a wide group of people. We both rode a lot growing up, but not for around 15 years.

This is not a ride, this is a walk. A very slow 1 1/2 hour walk. For 50m of so we were given the opportunity to trot but unfortunately the girl in front was struggling so this didn't even happen. This should be advertised as a beginners walk.

Not once throughout the ride was I asked how I was getting on, or even when I got back, or I would have given this feedback then. 1 of the girls sat at the back and chatted to a lady who'd moved to the area for the entire ride (hope she enjoys the VW camper when it's been delivered). I tried riding alongside my partner so I could at least have some conversation and was immediately asked to get back into single file as they didn't want to widen the track's they'd created on the land. While the scenery was lovely, it was a walk similar to many I've done in Aus. I came to ride a horse, not sit in silence for nearly 2 hours!

The positives: incredible horses, a beautiful setting & enthusiastic staff.

Did the beginner ride and wasn’t disappointed. Was shown how to handle our horses before setting out. Great staff and a very friendly and professional operation.

Perfect for beginners and families
Dec. 2020
Our family of five did the (beginners) trail walk which went for 1hr, this was perfect. On arrive here you are taken back by the picturesque of your surroundings and made to feel at home straight away. Very easy to mount your horse with the use of a large log to step from. We had three instructors with us which helped due to younger children in the group. On our trail we even spotted quite alot of kangaroos. All the horses where in amazing condition and the instructors talked about how much they enjoy working there. We hope to visit again next trip to Marg River.
