Mammoth is an impressive, gothic-like cave that could easily be described as the perfect home for a caveman. Tours are self-guided with an audio headset and begin via an elevated boardwalk through towering Karri forest. As you journey through the spectacular formations lookout for the carefully lit animal bones and fossils and listen to the stories about extinct animals. Wildflowers are abundant around the precinct from September to November. Located 22km south of Margaret River.

We had paid our money and were through the turnstile before the Ranger warned that there were quite a few steps. The Princess put on a long face, but with a promise that we would turn back if the going got too tough, she started...More

A well known cave for tourists with a variety of features. Easily accessible from Caves Road with parking available on site. Set in bush with walking trails adjacent that introduce a range of local species and provide information about them. Interesting and worth visiting

Beautiful fun adventure with kids. Good access, stunning caves. You can also complete the tour self guided which makes it suitable if you have limited time.

The mammoth cave just kept on going. Lovely formations. It is a self guided cave but a little of information would of been handy.

Well set up walk through cave with headphones. Good lighting and walk through Forest later. Suitable for adults probably, although kids might like it.

We came on a recommendation and were not disappointed. The tour was fascinating and the stalactites were just breathtaking. Part of a day on Cave road enjoying the forest with trips to the southern Cape and other beaches - dolphins swimming along the shore.

We had enough time to do one cave so we went to Mammoth. The cave, stalagmites and stalagmites were very impressive. The audio guide explained the geology and bone excavations well for someone with a scientific bent. Staff were very helpful and kind enough to...More

The Mammoth Cave tour is self guided and is very easy to do. The cave is spectacular and well worth a visit. Going down is the easy part - remember you have to get back up to the surface - it may challenge some people.

My mum and uncle are both 83 and they managed it without a problem. My uncle has hip problems and still was fine. If you take it easy and go slow then it shouldn't be a problem. At the end there are quite a few steps and... More

This is the only cave I did, it's very easy to walk into front part of cave, it's a beautiful cave & you don't have to go in very far to see how beautiful it is. It will take as long as you want it to take from 15mins onwards More

No need to pre book. Look in all the booklets and see whether you can get a discount. You can also get a combined ticket with the other caves which works out cheaper if you want to visit more than one site.
