Recently, Anne and I completed a 7-day Cape Naturaliste to Cape Leeuwin trekking adventure with Cape to Cape Explorer Tours. The organisation put into this tour was outstanding and we had an excellent holiday.
Cape to Cape Explorers provided splendid accommodation. We chose the “glamping” option but they also provided a self-contained unit option.
The food they provided was copious and delicious. Breakfasts were prepared by the individual from a variety of ingredients and eaten in a communal area with fellow hikers. Lunches and snacks were extraordinarily large and again delicious to say the least. For evening meals, our group either dined out or on other nights we were provided prepared meals that we ate in the communal area. To their credit, all meals and food provided came from locally sourced produce and businesses.
Our group comprised 13 persons, (males and females) and their ages varied from some in their 30’s through to others in their 70’s. It was a reasonably smallish group and that allowed us to get to know each other fairly well.
When setting off in the mornings all we needed was a light day pack for water and personal items. Each day had its own challenges such as soft beach sands, hills and inclines and the unpredictable weather of the Margaret River region. Nevertheless, reflecting back on our journey, what stands out in my mind are the spectacular views and amazing diversity encountered along the trail. I remain awestruck by the beautiful jarrah and karri forest, the colours of the wildflowers and the picture postcard panoramas of the coastline.
In places the terrain was difficult for everyone, but considering the ages of the older members we managed to complete each day’s hike with little struggle and minor aches. And at the end of each day, we were picked up by minibus and returned to our accommodation.
We had different guides for most of the days during the week and they were all wonderful and fun to be with. They displayed passion for the environment, were knowledgeable and measured about the local history, excellent photographers and their support couldn’t have been better.
One of the guides in particular was named Heather. She is a local girl with a beautiful smile and lovely demeanour. Her knowledge of the flora and fauna in the area was remarkable and she had us sampling various plants along the route. It really is clear that she loves her job and the region she lives in.
It is evident from behaviour and practices of the guides and management of Cape to Cape Explorers that they are passionate about the environment, indigenous culture and the local area.
It was the best way to experience the Cape to Cape and it provided real value for money.
This was an awesome trip through some of the most beautiful forest and stunning coastline of the southwest of Western Australia. It was safe, well organised, with hugely professional guides and lovely companion hikers.
A big thank you to Nikki; Heather; Andrew; Trevor; Mike; Rusty; Randy; Dan and Rohan. We will highly recommend your tours to our friends and we look forward to booking another trip with you next year.

After reading previous reviews we knew we were in for a wonderful week, but our expectations were quickly surpassed. Cape to Cape Explorer Tours with Gene at the helm and Nicky as the General Manager, offer such an awesome way to experience trekking the magnificent Cape to Cape Track.. Everything was so well organised, our accommodation at Surfpoint Resort, the delicious and bountiful food, and of course the daily walks led by the very knowledgeable, enthusiastic and friendly guides. We had the pleasure of being led by Andrew, Randall, Heather, Trevor, Mike, and Dan. All of the guides knew so much about the Margaret River Region and had so many stories to tell as we walked along. I must also mention Rusty here, the driver who not only drove us from Perth to Cape Naturalist but seemed to pop up here and there during the week.
My husband and I absolutely loved our week walking the Cape to Cape with a great group of people . The scenery was stunning and the track quite diverse in places and we were lucky enough to have just the right weather. With the support of our new friends, Nicky waiting at Surfpoint (home) for us to return from the day's walking, Gene showing up from time to time and, of course, the encouragement given by our wonderful guides, we never doubted we wouldn't make it to Cape Leeuwin.
Thankyou to Gene and his wonderful group of people, who all seemed like they were really good friends rather than colleagues.
A special mention must go to Heather. Such a knowledgeable and enthusiastic young lady with a beautiful smile. We had the pleasure of having her as our guide for two days....the last day being one of them. There was absolutely no way not any one of us would touch Cape Leeuwin on the last day!! I think she would have carried us if she had to.
Looking forward to our next memorable trek with Cape to Cape Explorer Tours.

What an amazing company to walk the Cape to Cape with! Everything has been thought of, all you have to do is show up and put one foot in front of the other. Also highly recommend the internal catering company - make sure you ask for an extra slice of the Apple Tea Cake for morning tea!

In all seriousness though this is an amazing locally owned company. The businesses values are clearly at the forefront of every decision they make.

They employ local guides who are passionate about the wonderful part of the world they live. One of my key takeaways was their perception of privilege and custodianship to walk along this part of WA's coast.

My wife and I recently completed the Cape To Cape Guided "End-to-End" 8 Day Ultimate Experience tour. It was excellent from day 1 through to day 8. After the initial disappointment of our March walk being cancelled due to COVID we were keenly anticipating our rescheduled walk in September. As it turned out, September is a magical time to be doing this coastal walk. The wild flowers were spectacular. The wild orchids were out in force in all their glory.

The guides were exceptional and very passionate about the track. Head guide, Heather, was genuinely very excited when she came upon a wild orchid! Her screams of joy were infectious. Her knowledge of indigenous culture was also far reaching. Richie our first day guide was a walking encyclopedia about the geography and geology of the area. Guide Mike was passionate about the marine environment and kept it quiet that in his day he was a top performing surfer. Not to forget Kristie and Trevor, our other 2 guides. Both bring their own special knowledge of the track. Kristie went that extra mile to ensure that walkers could keep their feet dry while crossing Margaret River by canoe. Trevor kept us informed about the European history of the area. He is also a keen permaculture gardener. His compost loo is not to be missed!!

Our stay at Margarets Beach Resort was very comfortable. A hot bath after a hard day on the track was terrific. The food provided by Cape to Cape Moveable Feast was delicious (and abundant!) Our vegetarian diet requirements were very well catered for.

It is safe to say that our expectations on the walk were exceeded from start to finish. The coastal scenery along the Cape to Cape track is breathtaking.

Gene and his Cape to Cape Explorer Tour team are doing a great job and there is a very good chance that we will be back.

Last month I was booked on the 7 day guided hike.
The pick-up from Perth was arranged for the Saturday morning.
Friday afternoon the Perth lockdown was announced and it was to start at midnight.
Within 30 minutes of the announcement Gene, the company manager called me to offer transport for that evening and 'threw in' the night's accommodation so we could still do our trip.
By 6 pm 7 other 'hikers' and I were on our way thanks to Rusty, who missed his night in Perth to drive us down.
The week had several more challenges as the lockdown area was extended.
At all times we were looked after, informed and offered choices. Gene and his team went above and beyond to give us a great experience.
Every guide was not only well informed, they were passionate about the vegetation, the culture and the wildlife, opening our eyes to the surroundings.
Nic, the 'overseer' of all things accommodation was nothing short of brilliant...she sorted every request, solved every issue and made us feel like we were her favourite group of hikers ..ever! (although I'm sure she makes all her guests feel this way)
The catering was a broad selection to suit most tastes, lots of treats and surprises...
This week was far more than 'a hike'.

I thought my Bro-inlaw was having a bit of joke when he suggested we do the Cape to Cape walk, camping and carrying all our own supplies. With minimal convincing, we opted for the 5 day Fast and Furious package offered by CCET. Had a great time and would highly recommend. Definitely preferred listening to the pouring rain and wind from a comfortable bed, especially knowing we had a 30km day ahead of us!!
Other than the obvious (spectacular scenery on and around every corner) loved the knowledge sharing and conversations with the very enthusiastic and friendly CCET staff.

Four of us did a three day bespoke hike planned and organised by Gene and the team at Cape to Cape, covering about 55km of the full 124km hike. We were returning to the same accomodation each day at Injidup Spa Retreat, so logistics for each day were different, with fantastic guiding from Mark on Day 2, and self-guided on days 1 and 3. The team put together the plan for us, based on our brief, and then delivered an excellent program. We enjoyed every moment of the walk. The coast was spectacular and ever changing for two and a half days, with a finish on Day 3 walking for a couple of hours through the Karri/Marri forest in Boranup. The itinerary we had was perfect for us, and the on ground execution and logistics were faultless. We even snuck in a little wine tasting at Windows with Gene and Mark at the end of Day2, and lunch at Leeuwin after Day 3. Fantastic!

We thoroughly enjoyed our 7 day self-guided Catered Comforts Hike as organised by CCET. It is obvious that Gene has created a supportive and dynamic environment for all his team to thrive. Their enthusiasm and subject matter expertise were obvious and totally engaging. From Rusty setting the scene on the first day with comprehensive, interesting and useful (especially for our tiger snake encounter) advice, through to all the drivers that picked us up and dropped us off each day. Special mention to the caterers too for delicious and nutritious food; and prompt and cheerful responsiveness to any requests for additional items. The accommodation was comfortable and appropriate for our party of four.
Thanks again for a memorable experience along the spectacular Cape to Cape Track.

I did the 5 days glamping end-to end on my own. Gene had told me he would support me and I trusted him and that was reassuring, so I truly enjoyed this great adventure every day.

I recommend walking in the summer because when you get tired of walking long distances in the heat, you can jump into the ocean. That way, you can get rid of the fatigue and continue walking again with a refreshed body.

Another attraction is to walk around looking at the contrast of blue sky and blue sea all the time. You will never get tired of looking at it forever. The contrast between the green of the sprouting trees and the blue sky is also soothing to the soul.

No matter what season you walk in, the one thing that remains the same is the feeling of the grandeur of nature.
As I walked along the Cape to Cape Track, I noticed that I was surrounded by nature in 360 degrees. I was never bored with the ever-changing natural scenery, in fact, it was always breathtakingly beautiful.

The staff was very friendly and gave good advice, and they delivered delicious meals every day.

Thank you for giving me such a wonderful experience.
I made a scrapbook to remember my trip. Every time I look at it, I will be reminded of the beautiful nature of Australia!!

My husband and I joined the Barbarians and did a 7 day trek which was hosted by the very slick, organised Cape to Cape Explorer tours. It was great value for money and nothing was too difficult for them especially with catering. All the guides were local and very knowledgeable. Heather ,our guide for 3 of the days was exceptional and very focused on a wide range of subjects especially local flora and Aboriginal history. We would certainly recommend this experience to anyone. It was something both of us will remember forever. thankyou
