History and landscape

I drove out from Kalgoorlie to explore this spot and was just about the only person around. Lovely and quiet with just the birds for company. Pleasant spot to picnic. Good, easy, signed walking trail across rock and through the bush. Bush camping available.

Quiet, lots of birdlife and great walks. A bonus to have hot showers via an old fashioned chip heater.

Great over night stay with lovely park hosts
Aug. 2016 • Couples
We had a quick overnight here on the recommendation of the lovely lady at the Menzies visitor centre. The volunteer camp hosts were delightful. Whilst we had our own sleeping accommodation we were able to use the cottage ablutions - so after lighting the hws, the hot shower was much appreciated. We did a short well marked walk the next morning and left feeling like we'd love to go back for another visit. Sure beats booking into a caravan park!

Not much to see, apart from nature - beautiful

Visited as part of Golden West Discovery Trail and loved it. Not too much to see except nature itself and we loved it. Rugged country, but beautiful.

Peace and quiet.

Have just got back from a trip to WA. Went into the Goongarrie Station camp area as it had been recommended to us. If you want power and all this is not for you. We loved it. Remote, quiet (except for the pied butcherbirds) - fantastic place to stay. We used this area as a base and visited The National Park. Flowers and birds being our interest it kept us entertained. Very interesting rock formations as well.
Visited by the Volunteer Park Ranger, who always had something interesting to tell you. Well worth the very modest camping fee.

Interesting Old Property
Nov. 2014 • Couples
This is an old property which is now a National Park. It is possible to camp almost anywhere and we parked our camper trailer outside the shearers cottage. With a functioning toilet and shower in the cottage this was luxury camping for us. A table and chairs are also available if the flies get too bad. The homestead nearby has similar facilities. Although we were the only campers we felt secure as we were 14kms from the nearest road. Firewood had been provided so we had a huge fire and counted satellites when darkness fell. The following morning we took photos of the many old trucks and cars abandoned around the yard then followed a 3km well marked trail through the bush, pausing to read the many information boards. If remote camping is for you then this is one of the best.
